It's been a few years since I've run them, but the Hara springs feel very similar to the Tamiya springs. Probably more suited to carpet tracks than asphalt.

Not a must, but a good idea to protect the edges from splintering too much on hard impacts.

When I run the HPI springs, I always use the HB shock ends and spring retainer. Lucky enough, they are a direct fit on the Tamiya ballstuds.

Use the Square parts.
You won't find better quality anywhere anyway...

At this time probably my best shot.

Hi guys,

Just received my new 417, and man, that thing is beautiful.
Unfortunately, no more bonusparts included. So no white springs for me

2 packs of HPI 73510 will give what you need for around $6.

Hello,

I was playing with my car and noticed that the spool cups ( surrounded by the blue alu sleev ) were " destroyed " or like mash cups lol...
I went from 44mm shafts ( who chewed the material ) to 46mm shafts who chewed even more the cups making it with a massive wear mark.

Is it normal, ( probably not lol :P ), what is the best thing to do ?
Thank you

Very normal when running a spool. Tamiya designed the outdrives so that they will take most of the abuse and wear rather than having to replace dogbones and axles all the time. I am always stocked up on extra pairs of spool outdrives and I just replace them on racedays before qualifying starts. If you are running stock you can probably get at least 2-3 racedays out of them.

I can't say I've ever noticed any difference on the track when they're chewed up vs new. I run them forever and replace them before anything important, and only then for peace of mind. I think replacing them all the time for club racing would be a pretty huge waste.

I notice a pretty big difference with the car as they become worn, maybe it's amplified with the mod motors, but the car will act more and more erratic exiting corners as the outdrives wear more. Pretty cheap part to replace to ensure the car is at the top of it's game.

Thanks for the inputs guys
I just noticed the kit came with spare outdrives xD so I'll put them and see

By the way, is it possible that anyone post some pics of their 417 to see how you fit the electrics, just got some spare time so I thought of playing with the electrics.
