I have cheap packs (turnigy, rhino, zippy) and the "best" (maxamps, thunderpower, reedy). A lot is to be said for how informed the user is and how well they are taken care of.

The only reasons packs (four to be exact) have gone out on me or lost performance is because I did dumb things like over run them, or put them on a cheap charger one too many times.

So the rest of the wrecks I was stating happened with my blue lipos and they help up perfect! these hobbyking cases are super thin and brittle, I do not suggest anyone buying them!!! I will never buy them again!
I know a can of worms is open but I will still love my 2250 motor!!!
I have to go over the whole buggy with nail polish and locktite!!
You run your batts with the wires up front?????

If so...BAD idea!

Why? I personally haven't had one get damaged, or opened up the cases on one. Is the end with the wiring pigtails are the end they connect all the cells together, or are the cells folded as they are stacked on each other, and thus connecting at opposite ends?

It's my first 1/8th car too. I'm sure I'll have fun with it. Maybe not the best choice, iyo. If I always made the 'right' choice my life wouldn't be so much fun...

The force of his nose dives is what caused this damage. Even if you do not sustain this damage, what do you think pounding on the solder board will do over time to these batts? the wires all connect to a board on one side.
Weakened and cracked solder joints, broken internal balancing wires....the list goes on

get some fine grit sandpaper and set it flat on a table and rub the top if the diff housing on the paper. it will remove any high spots or burs that cause leaks.

I swear you just love provoking people .

Dude, look.. no offense.. but I totally got a whiff of your character when you stated there's nothing but dorks at the track, nobody you would hang out with.

While I get what you're saying - it takes all types. I'm sure there's a few types at the track:

1. The dorks (as you stated)
2. The "Know-it-all's"
3. The guys that don't care and just have fun
4. The guys that care way to much and have no fun

And of course..

5. The loud mouths..

And that's where I think you come in

Slash to RC8be.
Rough racing, bad driving, to poorly constructed batteries...

Just way to much controversy around your posts man. Seriously, I dont' mean too much offense - but there's a couple of pages now of silly stuff that if you didn't tell me you were going to be a father, I'd guess you as a teenager.

We have to get back on topic with this thing man... except, I wonder if we've run out of things to talk about on the wrenching specifics of the RC8be.

+2 - Totally lookin forward to Gregg's new informative post.

That video was great when i went to the hobby shop today the told me to fill the diff to the top of the spider gear when i was suppose to fill it to the top of pin. now my question is now that it prematurely leaked if i let some of the fluid out will it still work.
