I hear ya. My son knows no one in school that has an RC car. Not one! What 11 year old kid doesn't like bashing a slash around. Weird. I like wrenching with him though - fabricating parts to fix broken ones - learn some skills, right? That is why I booked a local hobby guy to come to my Cub Scout group and do a demo - need to get some local kids interested.
If you part it out, I'd love an extra RX8 as a spare. I'd even take that 2250 off your hands...

I'm scared to even use those batteries! I wouldn't even store them in the house. They are currently outside on a concrete patio with nothing within 10' of them! I emailed hobbyking today, so I should hear from them next month.....
Has to be faulty cases! Gens Ace from here on out!

Sorry dude, I ran those batteries all last season and not one failure. With the amount of things you broke, there is only one reason for failure and it was your finger on the trigger. I strongly think you may be in over your heard with this and it probably would be best for you to sell the car and stick with the slash.

No offence or anything!
If I wanted to stay with a slash I would have stayed with a slash! I bought this to LEARN!!!! If I waste my money on it and throw it all down the drain on this car then so be it! I know I am not the greatest driver in the world, Heck that was my first time at the track with a buggy and third time at a track ever!!! Of course I am going to have breaks here and there and spend most of the day on my back but thats all apart of learning. You were there one day just like everyone else in this forum. I'm sure no one started out a pro! I came here stating what happened over the weekend not to get posts saying i'm in over my head!
OH and BTW I showed those batteries to a few guys at my track and they COMPETELY agreed faulty cases because they witnessed my driving!!
Anymore comments?

Once again for the umteenth time!!!! I ran one battery (mild crashes no breaks still learning track) for 15 minutes. brought her in to temp saw crack in battery. Ran the other battery 15 minutes (once again no breaks or real crashes up to this point!!!!!!!!!) noticed the exact same break in the exact same spot!!!!! Have you also noticed with these since you RAN THEM ALL LAST SEASON... That when the battery gets low and you shake the case the battery moves inside the case? Sorry but EL cheapo batteries and case!!!!! No breaks started happening on my car until I put the blue lipos in it and started running a little harder on her! IMO your opinion of me "being in over my head" can lick my opinionated balls
No offence or anything!

Stick with it....we all learn from mistakes, as you already know it will take time and practice sooner than you know it you will find yourself not breaking too much parts within a race year. But on another note you would be surprise what hobbyking might take back for waranttee!

Good post. Personally, I wouldn't recommend the RC8Be for someone to learn 1/8th scale on. It's way too aggressive and twitchy. I've had to spend a lot of time tuning it and I'm still over a second faster, per lap, with the Ve8. It's not a bad buggy or anything, it just heavily punishes you for mistakes.I don't do HobbyKing.

Oh yeah I plan on sticking with it! Thats whats wrong with these young kids these days! If they are not good at something they quit and say oh well I tried! I got well over $1200 in this thing to just "sell and buy a slash"!!! I will continue on and practice and not let a few douches persuaded me otherwise! So what all have you sent back to hobbyking?

Slash, I thought it was the Bluelipo. Isnt that HobbyPartz? Anyway I have had MaxAmps batteries and they didnt last very long. They started swelling on me within 6mos. I sent some back and they told me they were all scratched up and dirty. That I was too ruff with them that this time they would replace them. I had 5 or 6 of them $160 ea. all but one are bad and they are about 14mos old. In other words the high dollar ones dont mean they are any better. So I stopped buying MaxAmps and bought 10 H.King batts. 4 of them are the Nano ones. They are about a yr old and they are all still good. Only thing I did was put heat shrink over them and velcro them into batt. tray (because I cut the back of tray out, batts were too long) but still use the belts.

What's up? You ever run at Revelations? I just raced there last Sat. in the Losi Winter Series Round 3.
