As for the CC 2200kV motor, it doesn't matter. I was using a CC Neu 1800kV motor in my car before I bought the Tekin setup, and I was using the Grid mount. Never a problem with the Grid mount with the CC or Tekin motors.

If the wires hit the rear brace, you can rotate the motor 90 degrees in the mount, and that should solve your problem. It did for me, at least. Nice thing about the Tekin is that it uses 6 mounting screws, so you can rotate it in 60 degree increments if you want (although you may have to remove the front end bell to only move it 60 degrees, which is not a big deal).

Also, I don't understand your comment about the spur gear. You should be installing the Grid motor plate without the pinion on the motor and without the motor installed in the mount, so I don't understand how the spur gear is causing a problem. If you're referring to the pinion gear, you install the motor mount screws before you install the pinion, so again, I honestly don't under what issues you're having.

This is the way I installed everything:
1. Install the Grid motor plate onto the motor.
2. Install the pinion on the motor.
3. Install the Grid motor mount (the part that holds the spur and the motor plate) into the car.
4. Install the motor (with the motor plate) into the mount.
5. Set mesh a little loose, then tighten (I found that the mesh tightens ever so slighly when you tighten the clamping nut).
6. Check mesh all the way around the spur.

Note that if the wires hit the rear brace, rotate the motor in the motor plate and reinstall.

That's a helpful list of instructions to install the mount Billy. Everything else ya said is pretty much in line with what I said as well. I think he's having an issue with the Grid motor plate being 90 degrees out of phase.

I didn't even THINK of the possiblity he was trying to install the mount WITH the motor in it. If that's true, no wonder the difficulty!

Today it just came out from tower - anything over 99.99 is free shipping.

So now you get the 15.00 off and free shipping?
yeah... now we're at the same price as the GENS ACE and a much better battery.

And... best of all... it's in stock!
Good call. I signed up for super saver 9.99 just now so I'l have it. Definitely pays for itself very quickly.

You can use two small dabs of Shoo Goo between the spacer and the chassis, that'll keep it in place 4 U

Everything is together, my comments were on the experience of the Grid mount, not that it was a bad mount.

I was thinking that Shoe Goo, but have none, as I was fighting the screws, I took some pics of my car and will try to post them soon, Photobucket hasn't been user friendly lately.

But in the end, with the size of the 2200Kv system, in order for me to get it installed correctly, it did go in as 1 piece, Grid plate bolted to the motor, bolted to grid mount, bolted to the diff, bolted to the chassis.

Why? I didn't think the 2200kV motor was any larger than the 1800kV CC Neu motor. They looked identical in size when I had them, and I thought the T8 Tekin motors were slightly longer (although I could be wrong).

I don't see why it would need to go in as one piece. If that's the case, are you saying you're not able to remove the motor without removing the mount?

Also, if I were to do it that way, I'd just put a screw through the chassis and hold it in place with a wrench. Then slip the diff mount spacer on (if you decided to use it) then screw it into the mount a few turns. Then repeat for the other 3 screws. Doesn't seem like there's a need for Shoe Goo.

As far as the loose screws, I have to break down the car anyway to reoil all diffs and general maintence. LMAO totaled? What you smoking cause it's some good stuff if you think this BEAST is totaled!?!!!!

Just for SH@TS and GIGGLES How much would you guys suggest selling this thing for? rc8be, tekin rx8 2250, a few sets of tires traxxas radio system...
The only reason I would sell it is becuase none of my buddies are into RC. They are into guns and paintball and thats a fun hobby!!

I hear ya. My son knows no one in school that has an RC car. Not one! What 11 year old kid doesn't like bashing a slash around. Weird. I like wrenching with him though - fabricating parts to fix broken ones - learn some skills, right? That is why I booked a local hobby guy to come to my Cub Scout group and do a demo - need to get some local kids interested.

If you part it out, I'd love an extra RX8 as a spare. I'd even take that 2250 off your hands...

LMAO I don't think I will sell my car or "what's left of my totaled" car! I really enjoy the hobby but it get's boring when none of your buds are into it. I might just keep it around to drive from time to time! I do have a kid on the way.... Maybe he will be driving by 6 LMAO! I actually just found a track like 10 minutes from my house. It's soft dirt and not hard packed clay so It might be forgiving on my car until I get good enough to go to the bigger track. If I do sell it though anyone can have it beside RickyBBad ROTFLMAO!!!

I made a lit of friends there! Most are kind of nerdy and not very cool though!! Like someone that I would befriend and hang out on a regular basis. And it gets boring cause when you land on ur back. I have to climb down the stairs flip my car over climb back up and drive then repeat about 30 seconds later. I'm just not a very good driver yet! It's easy to drive straight lines on the road!
