If you're good with the complex subject matter like mathematics, statistics, etc, I'd seriously look at software engineering. With a military background, someone like you would fit in nicely where my wife works (and she does very well for herself). When I say things like mathematics, I'm referring to higher level coursework like Linear Programming, Discrete Mathematics, Game Theory, higher level Calculus, etc.
If you don't want to do that kind of work, I think there are good opportunities in finance for people that are very technically minded and good at stats, math, etc. I think you'd be surprised at my and my wife's backgrounds.
To keep this on topic, how many pinions do you guys usually keep? I have a 17T, 19T, and 21T. I'm wondering if it's worth it to go ahead and get an 18T, 20T, and 22T...

Sounds a little too deep for me, but Finance sounds more like my speed.
And also to stay on topic, I only have a 21 right now. Im running 158 temps with that. And its got the oompf to clear a quad without issues.

This is the way i soldered my battery, and motor connectors to my speed controller on my Associated Tc5 and Tc6. I will do the same on my RX8 when it arrives. They are 3.5mm female plugs and i sat the outside ones in the grooves on the posts, and the middle one centered. This gives good clearance between all three posts. The advantage of mounting the wires like this apart from looking neat, is two fold. It makes changing motors a breeze without having to re soldier, and secondly it increases the surface area on the posts for the heat to disapate. To solder, just turn the speed controller upside down heat the connector and let the solder flow into the bottom of the female plug and surround the post and fill the groove.
