I originally had problems with the software in the beginning. I couldnt even get lights on the ESC. Well same thing happened again today. Except this time, I didn't end up driving away from it like I did last time.

hey guys, got my kit together and went to run it on practice night. I had a jrz8450 servo laying around so thats what i put in it, ran it for five mins and boom no steering. looked at it and the hybrid gear was toast, you know the one plastic gear in there. Now I thought I had set my end points rights and centered the servo, so I checked for any binding and it seemed free enough. My buddy threw me a super cheap servo that he got from who knows where and threw that in. That thing gave a valiant effort for about two laps and same thing. Well upon further inspection at home today the steering blocks/hubs are hitting the plastic rod end on the steering linkage only when the suspension is pretty well compressed. Anybody else experience this? I think I'm going to do some clearancing to remedy this but it kinda sucks that I even have too. My old nitro rc8 has the steering mod done to it and that sucker is as loose and free as can be at full compression. Anyway just semi venting and looking for some insight.

How's the servo saver spring set? I believe the manual specified 8mm. But I'd have to look again to be sure.

Thats just something I would check first. If its too tight, then that could put undue stress on the servo. If you are bottoming out, then however you set your EPA adjustments probably need to be looked at again. As a reminder there is a difference between EPA and D/R or Dual Rate.

Damn Gregg I can't believe your RX8 let out its smoke!!
thats a bum deal. Hope this doesn't change your opinion of Tekin too much. I ran an original black heatsink RX8 in my Losi 8e a while back and now a newer unit in my RC8Be and never had a problem with either so hopefully you just had a bad unit. Better luck with the next one bud!

Just wanted to post that I ran my rc8 (tekno v3 conversion) on an indoor clay track and it rocks!!!
I had clay tires on the front and more knobby on the back so i could slide the rear... sooooo much fun.
I dig this buggy big time! Can't wait to re-build and run more!
MMonster, 2200kv, 17t pinion (18t soon), 4s lipo.

Since my RX8 is away back to the states for repair i'm without car for now. Well thats what i thought till my folks just phoned and told me they found my old car up in the loft.....

I'll pick it up on Monday. Super excited as i thought i'd given it away years ago. Still got everything thing to go with it from the sound of things, even the optional slick tyres!! Just hope the electronics are still working!

We really need a description of the noise, and does it only occur in a corner? If it's only while cornering, I'd think it would be something with the diffs.
Yes, its mainly when I am cornering. It sounds like it is winding out hard.
Please don't give me bad news I had enough of that last night when the plumber said 20 grand to fix my effing house!!
