Well, I used to own a DX3r-well still do-its out for repair, so in the meantime I picked up a Helios to get me by, and wouldn't you know, I really like it. So, what is different/better with the Eurus. I am considering selling my Spektrum when I get it back, and updating to the Eurus, and passing the Helios to my son. Just curious if there is anything important that I may be missing..That limited version is Naughty looking..

The difference between the Helios and Eurus is that the Eurus internals are 100% digital. The Helios does some analog to digital conversions. That relates to faster and more precise response times.
As for the 407, 408, and 409 receivers. The 407 and 409 are newer and work with the newest KO module for the fastest response times. The 409 runs a coax antenna and has better range than the 407. I used both the 409 and 407 and haven't seen any difference in range.
I don't know if the 408 will work with the new systems, but I do know it's a slower frame rate.

I will say this about the EX5 though. It is not a "pro" quality radio. Not saying anything against it, but if you are looking for a great radio I would look for a Helios and get the 901 module for it. I picked one up on clearance for $100 then paid another $60 for the module. Got it for my son to replace the EX5. The Helios is much more precise in its operation. If you just need something to replace your RTR gear the EX5 is a steal for the price. But I have tried to race with it and it is just not that good. Not to say it can't be done, just saying it is not as precision an instrument as a Helios or Eurus.

I asked about the ex5 for a friend on a tight budget. I have an old helios special edition that I dont use anymore, maybe I will give it to him.
I tried the module from my euros in the helios and it wouldnt work. Should it work? I used to run a sprectum mudule in that radio, any advantage in speed by switching to the KO module?

EX-10 Eurus frame rate is 8.0ms (normal) 6.0ms (high speed) 4.0ms (advanced)
210 and 407 receivers will accept the same response speeds and all response speeds from KO systems.
