Is it just me, or is it cheesy that the instructions for the M-06 call for you to shave 2mm off of a few of the ball studs? Why didn't they just supply 2mm shorter ones? I suppose it's not that big of a deal, but when you're as ham fisted as I am...

running silver cans, yes it will last (5-8min heats). You may need two packs to last the whole race day.... although I've seen one pack of 2400mAh lipo last 2 heats and 1 main

The TCS rules (for the US at least) still state that the battery must have a rounded profile, like a 6 cell stick pack. In other words, it has to be able to fit an M-05 battery compartment without modification to car or battery.

I just wasn't sure if there was a battery capacity limit. Then that battery will be fine, as will Acepow 4000. The batteries we are allowed to use must be on the ROAR or BRCA approved list, otherwise not usable.
Most drivers prefer to go with the larger capacity battery with the Lipo. The 3200 will still work a treat and give good punch to the car. The BL systems like the Lipo's and you get good run time from them.

I bought some Team Orion Rocket Pack's last time.
They have no balancewires hanging from them but a plug to plug one in.
Fits great in M05 and only cost 50 USD incl shipping each.
They are 4000 mah and 30C. But compared to Intellect or Yeah Racing lipos, they have same preformance. It's down to the ezrun i belive, even 20C is more than enough to feed it with juice...

Front upper arm location
Hey, Happy new year all!
Recently, whilst cleaning my M05 I wondered whether anyone out there had tried mounting the front upper arm to the chassis on the lower hole? I tried one side (without yet driving it) and it seems to give a massive amount of bump-steer.
Any pioneers?

Hi all, and Happy New Year!
So I thought I would give a shot at what seems to be the very popular world of Mini's. My M-05 Pro is on order and should arrive this week along with all the mandatory blue bits (steering parts, front uprights, motor mount, heat sink, etc.). Still haven't decided on the body, seems its between the Honda S800 (something different) and the Mini Cooper. I'm sure some of my questions have been asked a hundred times in the nearly 1000 pages of this topic, so accept my apologies up front.
I have a Castle Sidewinder 1:10 ESC with a 4600 kV motor I thought I would use. Too much power? Will the ESC fit? I see that the Hobbywing ESC and motor seem to be mentioned a lot. If I choose the HW, what Amp ESC (35 or 60) should I get, along with what turn motor. Am I looking at the "eZRun" or the "Xerun"? I'm not overly concerned with the rules at our local park (Roadrunners here in Camarillo, SoCal) as I usually just race with friends. I'm just afraid to have too much power to the point where it is not driveable. If I decide to race, I think their rules specify a Silver Can motor; will the HW EzRun work on a brushed motor?
Sorry for the long novel, but I would like to get this right from the start.

The Ezrun esc is brushless only.
I have found that a 13t / 35a Hobbywing combo gives plenty of speed without shredding tyres too quickly.
A TEU-104bk and a silver can or Tamiya sportstuned is another cheap option.
The brushless combo though is a lot better. I have flogged one of my combos out for 18mths and the motor / performance is as good as new still.
With the silvercan / Sportstuned motors performance declines as the brushes and so on wear out. So the HW combo makes more sense to me unless you are racing at a club that doesn't permit the HW combos.
Add to that run times with the HW 13t combo are awesome. You could bash around for 45mins on a 4000mah LIPO and not go anywhere near the cut-off point.

If you have one of the old sports tuned motors (which was a dark olive colour) they could go quite strong for a while.
I usually found that there wasnt too much different with silver cans depending on whether you burn the motor up or not (which shouldnt really happen in a mini).
The current black sports tuned motors are garbage after a few meets.
Aside from the fact that the endbell is actually adjustable and not fixed. Im so glad we dont use them anymore in australia.
