I am running a TT01 Type E with thw reinforced uprights.
I am trying ball studs with longer threads, I think that is the problem.
The ones I just installed, the threads portion is flush with the bottom of the uprights, so the upright is filled with the threaded portion of the ballstud. Because regular ball studs, the threads portion is only halfway into the upright, then when you hit the board it applies a lot of pressure on the ball stud and the weaker link is the upright so the hole becomes oval and then breaks.
I think I just solved my problem by analyzing it!
I'll let you know, my next race is the 16th of january.

I was so hoping the TT-01E uprights would minimize the breakage. I guess I'll just have to learn to drive better
and stock up on the parts bag in the meantime. Not to rain on your parade, but I have been running ball studs that were actually longer, by about 1 mm, than the hole they screw into in the original TT-01 uprights. Hope it works out for you.

If I'm not mistaken, all three have the same dimension and are made of the same rubber compound. Each tire is suitable in different conditions. Some would even surprise you. Ex. In the Tamiya Asian Championships, they ran the TT01 on an indoor carpet track. The best tire for all of them were the radials.

Also on any of them the more laps you get on them the better. Clean them after every run. Do what you can to soften them up. I used simple green to condition and clean them and they got more grip with age. I used the slicks on my sons car. The car has won 2 of the last 3 years at the Trackside Regional. 2008 with my son and last year as a loaner.

If it fits then why not I guess.
The drivetrain in these cars is very solid and will handle pretty much anything you throw at it.
The TT-01 though is not much when it comes to handling so anything faster than a 17.5T tends to make the car quite difficult to drive.
