I like the hexes in the front that way you don't need to change the bearings in and out every time you change tires .

I applaud Losi for thinking WAY outside of the box. I don't race 2wd buggy and don't plan to so for me its just nice to see some inovation. I am more interested in that new speedo though.

Impressive design for the serious indoor racers. Kinda stinks that racers will have to 86 their 15 sets of tires though. I do have some concerns for the outdoor guys and the steering rack. I can see that being an attention spot for the guy that wants to play in the dirt instead of race.

You can remove the drive hex and place shims between the bearing and the cross pin to run "standard" wheels. Up front though the offset is significantly different and you'll need 22 Wheels.
So the new spindles have a large hole for a driveshaft to pass through. Got it.

Good to know about the rears as well as the release date. Fronts aren't so bad. I rarely have more than 3 sets of fronts at any given time.

Thanks for the answers Gary.

15mm longer than the old car. That's a whole lot.

Thumbs up

Nothing scary about the steering rack... Custom Works has been using a slider rack with almost zero Ackerman for decades with no problems in the dirt. It's a non issue.

Nice car. Might have to change my Christmas list for Santa.

Alright guys, just got to my computer, and there are obivously a ton a questions here. I will address all the questions and concerns I can.

First off, the car is awesome. It is doing great lap times, is super easy to drive, is really easy to work on, but best yet, I have yet to break any parts!

The Aluminum chassis does weigh more than a plastic one, but the car doesn't! In race trim, my car is only 1550g. The Aluminum chassis allows for more of the weight to be lower, improving CG. It has also allowed us to control the flew characterics, helping handling. And the original test car still have the original chassis, and it is no where near worn out.

I was the biggest skeptic of the steering rack, but trust me, it does not bind up at all. We have tested with this in mind, and popped off the steering link numerous time to see if it has become bound up, and it never was!

And only thing that I don't really care for is the steering rack on it, seems kinda hard to keep it nice and smooth without wearing out the plastic if you race in anything other then clay.
The Rear motor configuration with fit a full size 2s LiPo upto the ROAR legal limits, no conerns or need to worry about finding new packs there! The Mid-Motor configuration does require a saddle pack, but there is not really any way around that.

Again, no issues with the rack, works great without binding!

No one!

It is the same body, but you do need to cut them a little different in the rear.

Definitely people are going to be upset about the saddle pack config too.
The tuning options look awesome though.
Again, no issues with the rack. Saddle pack is only for mid motor config.

Won't happen, please try not to bring negativity to this thread

Right now, the US team is running all Rear Motor setups with great success. There has been testing going on with some of the team at HH UK in the mid motor configuration and they are very happy.

The mid motor tranny is 4 gear, so no worries here, we are on top of this one!

Not heavy at all, 1550g in race trim

I turns really well. A longer WB will always provide faster lap times, more stability through bumps/ruts, and improve jumping. It does not have the "Losi push" for sure

The front hexs have worked awesome on the XXX for 10+ years. Many drivers really appeciated them. I know, when I go to wash my tires, and I don't have to poke the bearings out, then put them back in after, it makes my life easier

It will fit maximum size ROAR/EFRA/IFMAR legal LiPo, 25.1mm tall.

As for the rear outer E-Clips, this is the only hinge pin that has them. We looked into other options, but truely this is the best, and most reliable option.

No new speedo there, that is our current ESC with the optional 4-cell heat sink plate.

I had to take a cold shower!! WOW!!!

It all looks great!!

But since its a free world ill point out the things that i dont like:
- E-clips.. I don't need to got there.
- HEX Ok i like hex wheel adapters. But could we not all get on the same page and agree on one wheel design? Touring cars have 10x the amount of cars out there and yet they all use the same hex on every brand of car... What annoys me here is losi changed there front wheel hex. So toss out your losi fronts you own know. The saving grace here is the hex in the rear is optional so you can use up your b4,jc and xxx rims with the cross pin
- minor but id like to see a bleed screw on the shocks
- steering slider.. guess we will have to see how it holds up, not sure if it will bind up over time
- hopefully the 4wd inspired front spindles hold up..
- release date of first quarter 2011.. sucks

FYI i want one!

So what is the real pros and cons of running the mid motor configuration over
The rear motor configuration?

Glad to finally see this car! Hopefully I can get one of my own soon. That long wheelbase should really help on blow out outdoor tracks here in Michigan.
