Someone correct me if I am wrong, but the TRF415 already seems to be winning more frequently then the EVO III did....?!

Surikarn was champ with the 414 right?

Yup, Surikan ran the 414 in 2002. Such a well balanced, light, and fast car when run with saddle packs.

EVO IV huh? I guess Tamiya is serous about evolving a belt AND a shaft drive car. I just hope the price is under 300 for it.

yep.

Won the YamaYama with a stock EvoIII.

Trashed TITC 2003 with a red EvoIII; later kitted as Surikarn Ltd.

Did TITC 2004 again with the 415; earlier previewed at Reedy Race Bangkok.

My understanding is that Tech Racing is doing R&D for the TRF 41x cars, while Tamiya's R&D is churning out the TB Evo cars, which is why we are seeing two different evolving lines from the same company.

I am also fairly sure that the team drivers have their pick of cars to race, although you will typically see the entire team running the same car at a larger race.

Yep, all the 414s, 415s and evos still use the same TA04 arms and not to mention that the TA04 together with the TB02 are still the best cars u can use in Tamiya Series GT class round the world, with some exceptions in some countries.

TA04 is like the TA03 series. Which is their typical production. Tamiya has so many cars in their inventory. Sometimes it is too difficult to remember all the cars.

I wonder which car Surikarn's going to use @ the worlds.... would he risk it with the newer cars E4 or 415 or would he stick to the e3 or even go back to the 414?

Surikarn would never run the 414 or evo 3, it would not promote their new cars which they want to sell.

This is starting to annoy me a little now, I wish tamiya would stick with one car for more than a year. releasing 2 per year is way too much. I just really hope they don't abandon the 415 for the worlds.

Anyway, RainbowTen seem to be listing the evo 4 at Y49,800.

One thing is for sure....you'll never be bored with available choices from Tamiya. Personally, I love this company. Something for newbies, something for the fun racer, something for the serious racer and always something worth collecting. How many other companies out there have a collectors market like Tamiya. I'll say it again...I love this company!!!

I think 415 development by Tech Racing is going to be the next TA05

I'm sticking to shaft drive though. Belt drive is a pain on dirty parking lot. One small rock ruins the belt.
