That works, but in some cases you have to really rub it out
with the toothpaste and brush its literally a 3 minute task

Yeah very true. But whats the advantage to getting te carbon off? Is it just a peve to some, I dont take my engine apart much to really think about this.

I am not really sure to be honest with you. I do know that it is build up from the Castor oil in the fuel that does not burn off. some people say if your engine is tuned correctly you wont get any carbon build up but I have not seen one engine without some sort of build up on the top of the piston no matter how great of an engine tuner it belonged to. I do know it looks like crap so I like to clean it off. Ive been using the old rub with Q tips and fuel or WD-40 method but now that I tried the toothpaste I am sold on it.

Hey jaz240 I guess ill take some credit for this ti.p I know it would get a funny response but it works... i got the idea from a small scratch on my wife's Volvo now i keep a small tube in my car detail box...

yes it was you! Thanks for the tip bro, it works like a charm! We were all laughing at the time but I figured WTF? and I tried it anyway. Its a winner for sure.
