No problem, glad to help.
I journeyed to Mike's in Dallas today to buy the pinion gear(s) I needed. I ran the 19T on their medium-sized outdoor track with the Tekin 2050 on 4S. Timing was at 0, Low starting power, 30% punch control, linear throttle/brake curves. I had a little too much top end, so I cut my radio's EPA down to 85%. Unfortunately, before I could finish the run, the motor mount screws came loose.
Picked up some 4mm screws to replace them. What's worse is that the motor came off the track at 180dF. Some of that heat can be attributed to the loosening of the motor causing tight gear mesh, but not much. I stopped running it as soon as I heard the wrong gear noises. The ESC's fan was on, and the fins inside were at 140dF. I didn't measure the LiPo (a Turnigy 5Ah 25C), but it felt like about 100dF. I have a couple things I need to do to improve cooling, though. I run a Punisher body with no holes yet cut. I also received a 40mm fan and Integy heat sink with the motor, but it doesn't hold onto the motor very tightly at all. I would rather not use a fan on my motor. I wish I would have remembered to record how long the run lasted, but I was having too much fun driving the thing at a real track.

So, I bought a 17T pinion to try next time. Most of the guys there run 3S in their buggies. One guy who might be on here, Ron Fleck, was there with his Mugen MBX6 w/RCM conversion, running a Tekin RX8/T8 2250kV combo with a Venom 3S 6.4Ah. That motor came off a 10-minute run on the indoor track at 140dF. He said he liked the bigger truggy motor because it helped to counterbalance the car from side to side. He was running a 17T pinion with the stock spur. Forgive me for rambling; I'm bored.

i run the mmm with a 4 cell reedy 40c and a 2200 castle combo.after a main (15 min) i come off at around 135-140f thats with a 15/46 gearing. it flys down the straights and has plenty if not too much torque!! no adjustments on the speedo never hooked it up to the comp once untill we jus got the new firmware update. after that i just adjusted my brake to 60% other than that its all stock settings!!
what is everyone doing for setups? are you guys using the same setups as the nitro guys? reason for asking is the diff in weight. i would like to know this so i can start tinkering with my car

You should try the tapered pistons. Part #ASC89456. They make the car a little more plush, which is always a good thing. I went from bouncing off big jump landings to not bouncing at all. Although I'm running them tapered-side up; Associated directs you to run them the opposite way, to improve rebound dampening. I'm not a pro racer or tuner, but I really don't see the point in that. If someone could enlighten me, I'd love to know.

Just wondering if any of the guys running the rc8be chassis are having any problems or if it is holding up well? I plan to put the tbone skid on mine to help protect the kickup and rear area. payday is getting near so i am gettin ready to hit the pay now button.
how are the shock towers coming?
thanks
