They're worth $100. Before I got the Elite mount, I didn't finish two races because the motor moved in the stock mount and shredded the spur gear. Since I installed the Elite mount, my RC8Be is bulletproof. IMO, the stock mount is one of the weakest points on the RC8Be and Brandon offers an exceptional solution to that problem.

P.S. He should send Maifield a bottle of Dom for the spyshot picture of his electric buggy pimped out with the Elite mount.

Well the Robinson Racing pinions are all .48" long, which would mean there would be about 1/8" of overhang off the motor shaft length that I described. (Not overhang in relation to the spur/pinion mesh) That shouldn't be a big deal.

But to answer your question, simply measure one of your Novak pinions. If they're about half an inch long, you're in business. Any longer, and your pinion's gears may not perfectly align with your spur gear.

Sensored with original RX8. 2050 with no timing and 1900 with 3 degree timing geboost from 6,000 RPM's to 30,000 RPM's.

Ah-hah, timing! That's something I haven't played with yet (though I read about it in Car Action yesterday). I'll remember to set my 1900 to 3 degrees timing if and when I get it. Thanks.

You could run either one, but if you're following what we're saying about the buggy 2050 versus the buggy 1900 here, the same principles ring true for truggy. Lower-kV means easier to drive and more efficient. Most of the pro drivers use 1700 or close motors in their truggies. Although I admit, I'm not the highest authority on the subject. I'm sure the other people in this thread will give you concrete advice; I'm just stating what I've heard, and what makes logical sense.

Hey anything will help, thanks a lot I appreciate it. Right now I am running a kershaw 1850 or something like that with rx8, now and not sure which way to go on the tekin. I have it turned down and it runs super cool. I'm still ahead of my local buds, but what about when racing serious comp? Will I need the extra motor? Here's a good one anyone run buggy motor in truggy?

Kershaw 1850? You mean the kind with the smooth can, similar to the old purple Feigao motors? I've run several Feigaos in the past for the sake of bang for the buck. I actually liked them. The only problem is durability. When mounted to my old RC8T with the stock motor mount, it sat almost on level with the chassis, which prevented the thing from falling apart on harsh landings.

Unless you have a truggy made out of a single sheet of carbon fiber, I'd stick with the truggy-length motors.

No thhe new gen 2 4 pole motor, i had to cut the fins off the bottom for it to fit, and it is pretty damn close to snug with the chassis.

Huh, haven't heard of that one. Well then it's a tricky question, trying to predict whether or not you need to change your setup.

This might help. Watch this video of Truhe, whom I assume was running a Losi 1700 motor on 4S, winning the ROAR electric nationals just last weekend. Watch the lead truck (Truhe) carefully, and ask yourself: Can my truck do that? If your answer is at all doubtful, you may want to ask around about what might be a better setup.

Haha well Im sure that my truggy can do that haha but idk if I can make it do that compared to those guys. I try to run it relatively easy bc I like to finish, win and keep the money I'm not spending on broken parts haha. Also thanks for the vid.
