Your post makes no sense to me, Im not flamming you. You say stock V.S stock there is no comparison (or about the same) in the underlined part but then you say to compare a moded B5 or Jammin to a stock Speed. Well, I have a moded JPX and a Moded Speed and there is still no comparison.
Not modded by me.

I like the OS engines, as i say I run them quite often...I just don't think they are as godly as they are made out to be...sorry man..they are a great engine, but so are many others....... Stock vs stock 2013 on B5 and 2060 on Soeed neither one pulls on each other, B5 has more snap off bottom and B5 gets better mileage...on the dyno they put out nearly identical numbers....thats the facts from true side by side testing...The Speed does have less off the line punch and a smoother feel, but adding a weighted flywheel to the B5 smooths it out just the same....

Well let's say that it would be hard to believe if no other engine manufacturer
would come up with something better than V-Spec/Speed combination since the basic engine has been out for ages.

In my opinion OS is a good engine brand but it's not superior to Nova or RB etc. Main advantage of OS is it's carb and the overall tuning meaning it can be pretty much off and still run OK. Most of the other engines out there have narrower window and there for can be considered "harder" to tune. If you say you can "out tune" most then who cares and what does it mean in general ? Absolutely zero as you can't run around the world and tune the engines can you ? I can tune my Alphas for +10min but still it does not mean that everyone can do that. So the package needs to be so easy to use that majority of the users can feel them selfs as a good tuner be it the case or not. This is the advantage of OS + the (stock) Speed can make 10min where say 90% of the other stock engines can't. In many cases you can have 10min or close with +4 and with B5. Only issue with B5 is that it won't last more than few gallons on that +10min tune (kind of a vspec syndrome) and +4 can't reach the tank times as reliably as OS. Now keep in mind this is with normal racers and not any "PRO's".

Now what this leads to us: it's more how you use the gear than what it says on the cooling head or block. And what is funny is that most of the guys who argue these things can't either drive so well that they could take the advantage of something that can be seen only on dynos nor tune their superios engine for +10min tank times even they claim to do so in Internet

So have fun racing and leave these debates to the internet experts

+2 for OS here. Novas are nice and a very solid engine but I have observed the carbs be a little finicky when tuning. If you want an engine to last forever then Nova is the way to go, they will outlast OS as far as # of gallons, but OS engines are still my fav and these new XZ os engines are off the hook.

its funny how the claims of the B5 gets better mileage than other engines out there.. but when seen it running on a pro level.. the drivers usually pit a minute b4 the competition (when pitting at 8.5min gives an advantage of pitting at 7.5min)...

not a flame.. but just a runtime comparison from what i have seen from drivers on the same level... i mean if teh B5 can give that much more runtime you would think a pro level driver would use it to his advantage... but you usually see him come in before said Speed engines... that doesn't make sense to me.... but of course thats just me..

Just an OBSERVATION guys... so dont jump on me to hard

but as of lately .. I like Novarossi (FMS and Toro )... prior to that OS... and still have one as old faithful in my box....
