... first of all, Iàm not in for a fight about these things ! Our buggy team`s very cloose to the distributor here. My only interest is in passing on good advise about the problem that these engines do have.
We have had 8 team-engines (Cobra X2 und Mamba X1) breaking down / blowing up with conrod problems, also some using the newer conrod.
We are very into break-in, in the car or in bench. We pre-heat, use higher content of oil, heatcycle and do not racetune before aprox. 1,5 -2 gallons. Conrods should be changed after break-in, because they all show wear. If you go on without doing so, we have bad experience passing 8 -10 liters.
Still after changing the rod, they will not run more than 2 - 3 gallons before they start "eating" the brushing.
The GO conrod seems to take the beating better !
When the Axe engines runs, they are great engines, - but still not quite up to the fuel economy of high-end race engines.
- all this, not to harm, but just inform about our experiences with the Axe.

If you are not getting 6 gallons out of your rod i am SORRY i have been and i have one Motor that got 9 gallons on 1 Rod so i must be doing something Right that my be way i am a Sponsored Drive for Axe Rossi.

not to sway sides to this conrod debate, but i had mine changed after run in + 2 race meets... 6L through the engine.
my LHS recommended it due to these rods failing and destroying the engine. they recommended the novarosi engine and claimed that i'd be hard pressed destroying this engine now. i paid $60% off RRP for engine/pipe combo so an extra $70 didn't worry me.
onto another note... last race meeting i had my engine properly race tuned. i can still go a little leaner on the top end, but this engine is creating a serious amount of power.
In my first race meet after run in. i canme 2nd in the B main final running an engine that was way too rich on the bottom end and still managed reasonable lap times on our track.

Axe Motor Rossi Takes another Win in the Arkansas Dirt Oval Series Round 4. I Won 2 out of the 3 Heats and Won the A Maine. I was running the Serpe .21 Motor Temps ran 235-240 all night and the motor had Tons of power i could Pull any Car any time i needed to. This is the Best Dirt Oval Motor Money can Buy.

Let me know how the New Rod works out i have been thinking about a Rod with some other Kind of Bushing to. Would Love to see some pic of the Rod you made and some more Info on it. I think the Brass Bushing is Old Tech and we need a Rod with something Stronger with as much RPM and HP as these Motors are making Now Days.

without paying to use it
My design will give more overall more performance and run time on there engine then any current one on the market
Every current engine even broken in properly start loosing performance after break-in "really from the first rotation the bushing starts developing play and not letting the piston reach tdc that it was designed for. we are talking hair's here but this new rod will keep the original full stroke of the engine
and not delvelop slopfirst try: i took a old axe rossi engine that had 8 to 10 gallons "soft chasing tune ready for a change" I installed this rod and it was like a differnt engine more pop/pinch and it's keeping tune
currently on 3 gallon after install and it is running great
i will post more at a later date

I FEEL AS A SALES AND MARKETING MANAGER THEY SHOULD REVERT BACK TO THERE OLD COOLING HEAD DESIGN FOR THE LOOK BUT MAKE SOME UPDATES TO THE HIGHT MABIE A RECESSS SO THE HEAD SITS LOWER ON THE BLOCK

I would like to add that 6 to 7 gal on a rod. Or rod bushing may or maynot be common this is what. I have gotten but its always a good idea to change rod every 3 gal to be safe on ANY ENGINE and I agree that changing rod after breakin is good. Also havin a rod made with a better material or a bushing with better material would be nice.
