If you held a soldering iron for 3 mins on the shaft it should be a lot more than "slightly hot." Glad you got it off though. I've had that happen on a CC 2200kv motor more than once. First time I cut off the pinion with a reinforced blade and high speed dremel. Second time I used a pair of dykes as a level to pull it off. And I didn't use thread loc on either one.

I`m not sure why you need to locktite them . I been racing 1/10 electric for 26 years and never needed to thread lock a pinion . If your using the cheap allen keys that come with the cars , I could see why . Do yourself a favor and get allen drivers .

haha yea, the one that came with it i couldn't even use to get the stock set screw off :P Used proper ones to put new ones in n they came out. Maybe just unlucky. sitting nicely with some blue lock, tho i haven't tried to get it off as yet, so not sure if it'll also be stuck :P

I've been able to get loctite off anything with my set of MIPs
Best wrenches I've ever used!
