Definately setup issues there.. I have been running dual 1409's in my Hyper 9 for 5months and there holding up fine.. I have a few friends that have been running them for almost a year and they're doing awsome as well..also they're cheaper at Amain Hobbies I believe...

Good feedback thanks fellas and nice deals there Arco I need to add that to my favorites I'm still looking for good sites to shop from. Until last night A-main and Tower was all I really knew.
1 more thing not to shoot down anybodys suggestions but has anyone used the relabled CS-170 from Hobbico. I hear its as good as the Hitec and is advertised as Titanium geared.
Anyone used these? If so are they a good alternative?
Oh and t8rtot.... who makes the 1409's and where did you buy yours?

Im just gona add that those Orion servos are not up to the task AT ALL!! I got one that stripped 2 sets of gears within a gallon and another that just burned out completely. Not to mention the Team Orion customer service (or lack there of) wanted nothing to do with helping out with what where pretty much brand new servos. Go with a well know servos like JR, Futaba, Ace, or Hitec. I may have missed something but the OP who stated racing on a budget is buying everything right the first time around is right.

Awesome thanks for the input! It's saying my thread was "moved" for some reason. Maybe I don't know the rules but this seems to be on subject with Nitro offroad if I did something wrong I'm sorry. Where should this have been?
Nvm I see where it went. And I see how that applys its just nice to find it all here. I don't even look at the other Forums and I asked it here cuz I wanted the Nitro offroad guys answers. I'm afraid I'll get answers from people that don't know the rigors of 1/8 offroad on another thread.... =(

I am representing savox locally, and I have yet to have one single customer come back to me with a broken servo.
No gears or electronic issues at all.
Make sure you get Savox and not a one that is based on savox.
20KG on the steering is more then enough.
Most servo failures are due to incorrect user input, either the EPA is set way off or the the linkages are not proportionality mounted.

I've yet to have any problems with ace/xp servos as well. They are rock solid and are underrated as far as torque is concerned. For the price its hard to beat them. Hitecs are great servos, but if you can't afford the $150 for a decent servo price tag then ace/xp is a great alternative. There are tons of people here who use them and is evident by the fact they usually last less than a day on the buy/sell threads. And the fact you can buy a good used one for around $50-60 shipped adds to the overall value of them.
