Good Servos?

Hey guys I was shopping last night and found these servos...... http://www.absolutehobbyz.com/index....a&filter_id=22

The specs look good and the price isn't that bad but I don't know why more people don't use them if they are any good.... Any one care to comment?

I was thinking for ST. or TH. in my truggy. The only thing that scares me is the Aluminum gears they say is to "save weight" but I wonder if they're strong enough to stand up?

never used them but people i know seem to like them but im not positive theres another brand that looks familiar i hear arent all that good same case i think they are called savox or somthin so if there the same i would say no plus jr is worth the extra like 20 bucks and get a 3 year warranty but jr or even spektrum

Those are made by Savox and under the Savox (125x) brand they are much cheaper. Also the Align DS610 and DS620 are the same servo's for a much better price than Orion.

And yes, they are good, I do use them to.

Ace/XP/Team Associated DS1313 for throttle, and Ace/XP/TA DS1015 for steering. Great servos at a great price.

Where?

I'm sorry I'm pretty new and still figuring this stuff out..... All the people I know all run Hitec so I don't know about the JR or the Savox/Align brands. Where do I find/order those brands at? I don't see them on absolute, a-main, or discountrc...

Sorry didn't see your comment jwm till now. My buddy has a 1313 in his buggy that seems to work well wheres the best place you've found them priced?

JAMMINKRAZY 07-21-2010 01:37 PM

Just buy a Hitec and be done with it.;)

jwm2 07-21-2010 01:40 PM

You see em for sale here in the buy/sell threads. I bought my 1015 on ebay, for about $80 shipped, brand new in the box. The 1313 i have i bought used for about $55 shipped on here. 2 rock solid servos for the price of one hitech, thats my idea of a good deal. When searching ebay use "ds1313" "ds1015" "ace 1015" "ace 1313".

Do-Over 07-21-2010 01:43 PM

Where do you buy your Hitec's Jammin? I've never found them for under a bill but I hear other people who have found better prices on them. I guess the biggest question for me now is. Where is the best place (price wise) to find good servos?

I know this hobby is expensive but I love it even tho I'm not rich or sponsored so I keep trying to race on a budget. Sometimes I have to sit out a weekend or 2... Any info is greatly appreciated!

Thanks for that jwm I'll look on eBay!

racing on a "budget" means do everything the first time around correctly so you dont waste money buying things over and over (do it once and be done) :) thats teh way I put it anyways lol...I have been a futaba nut swinger for as long as I can remember until recently when they started poping left and right...(s9351,bls451,bls351) so I said f-it and bought the new hitec high voltage 7940's and 7950's...havent had a issue since but its only been a short while. can not wait until I can get a new HV 7945....

They have alum gear or gears and that's no good for 1/8 scale. Hitec makes the best servo. If you can't swing the 7950 then look for a deal on 7955's. Then no dnf's from servo issues. Man I hate dnf's.

+1

and I get mine off ebay.

and not to mention if and when you blow a Hitec servo, they have great customer service and offer a warranty for their servos, just send it back and they will rebuild it, or send you a new one for cheaper than buying a new one.

We sell Savox (and several other brand as well, HiTec, Airtronics) and have had GREAT success with them, I think their specs are underrated speedwise, they are faast!

do NOT run the Orion servos! they are junk and will burn out faster than you know it. one guy bought 5 of them for throttle and burnt all 5 out in one weekend! no joke. he slapped in an 30 dollor hitec and ran it for a month before switching to something stronger. i have yet to see a Orion last more than to race days

RCmayor 07-21-2010 02:30 PM

Someone that burns up 5 throttle servos in a weekend definitely has some issues with linkage/EPA setup.

So far so good on the ultra torque Orion servo for about 3-4 weekends of running.
