I stripped a head screw thread on two different Picco engines (curiously the same screw on both engines) and I was wondering what you would do to repair this.
a.) Helicoil?
b.) drill and tap for a 3.5mm screw?

Have you ever done this before?

Thanks,

Stefan
Hi Stefan ,Drill and tap 3.5.
use bolts from novarossi 15s, fit straight in.
You will have to bore out the head holes slightly for larger bolts to fit in . I have done this on several Picco based collari bullets that I have done up. Had same problem as you , the cast is weaker than novarossi based engines.
Hope this helps
Cheers

Alex,

thank you for the information.

That's exactly what I had decided to do.

I appreciate it.

Hey Dennis any idea of when the motors might be ready for some of the RD team to get our hands on? We just started a series race in Texas and i would really like to get a couple of the motors to run.

Thanks

Yeah, Dennis, where are these engines?
There's at least two test drivers patiently waiting here in sunny Oz.
. . . . wonder what a "homie" is.
