Does anyone know the difference between the losa4430 and the losa4454 alluminum rear diff inserts? I would think they were the same and both would work on the 8t 2.0 rear diff, but just wanted to make sure. Thanks

You want the 4454 for the 2.0 vehicles. Look at the non-oval flanged insert for the 4430 and you'll notice the lack of the aluminum stops to prevent the insert from spinning in the diff housing. Look up both parts and look at enlarged pictures. The 4454 has the stops to prevent spinning for both inserts instead of just the right side like on the 4430 inserts.

Good to know thanks. Do you run them? Any pros cons?

I run them. Anything to prevent movement from flex on the ring and pinion in these trucks can't be bad.

There isn't a con at all. But keeping the diff stable under high power applications is good peace of mind. Keep checking the gear mesh and adjust for that. It only takes 3-4 minutes to check. I've never had to adjust mine, 10 gallons of use so far and all is well.

the plastic ones wear out and causes the gears to skip and possibly break. The alum ones allows you to set and not worry about bearings and shims....

I actually cracked a plastic diff insert in half, which took out the ring and pinion. Aluminum for me!

See that's what I thought but somehow both of those clear setup sheets have nothing written on them.
