I use the GMK Carb-O's silicone bands.

These are great and very affordable if you just put a couple of packets in with another order.

I think what go-tec needs to include is another fly wheel with the kit!
Ran my first tank of sidewinder 20% with some massive mods run in oil through my new mg66. The engine was tight as hell!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought I might have blown it up at first. It started, then went straight to shit. So I took it back into the house removed cooling head, everything pretty. I heated it up to 210 with my heat gun again went out there got it going kept it going through it's first tank. Do these ever run out of fuel? One thing I noticed was how it ran with the 2072 pipe that go-tec makes. Runs a lot cooler [pipe not as hot] then the dynamite 086 that I have been using. The engine is staying at 230ish range. I turned the low speed needle in 1/2 turn. I did everything as stated in the instruction sheet that came with the engine. And also followed the instructions on the run in oil. Did everybody's engines come this tight? Does any body here in the states want to buy a new GXR-5port? 200.00 shipped lower 48 only. After hearing the mg purr I won't need the 5 port! Mark,Grizz if you read this and see I am doing some thing wrong let me know. Thank you.

just preheat it matt and run it around gently gradually giving it more and more throttle as you get through a few tanks..and I get 12m40 out of mine with a 7mm insert, ceramics and a real heavy throttle finger.with a 6.5 or 6mm insert and some gentler driving I could probably break 15minutes.

And I was going to keep mine for racing and use the MM5 7 port I had just finished running 2 gallon through for bashing and club days but the MG66 is so easy and fun to drive fast I think the 7 port is gonna be gathering dust till I sell it... almost certainly to buy a spare MG66.

that's my plan giz! A spare mg66! I have 4 tanks through it now and just finished putting it up. One thing I noticed, is when I fill the tank all the way up the engine wants to blubber out/super rich. I clear it then start running it's okay. I really have only gotten to 1/2 throttle. I thought if I leaned the lsn a little more it would correct it, it did not. So now I am flush HSN and 1/2 turn in LSN. I will replace the rest of my fuel lines in the morning. I am using the losi 8.0 air filter on it but will install the big ass jammin one instead. I am going to finish off the break in with the 20% sidewinder then go back to my byrons. My back yard looked like a fog bank rolled in from running the buggy. But if this is the type of power I can expect from the mg66, damn I can hardly wait until she's broken in!

Hey Bigmatt Sounds like you are on the right track ... the MG is not tight at all , its the loosest engine Go Make so im not sure why its tight ... With MRI in the barrell and plug out you shoudl be able to turn it over without much effort ..

Do this

Take the head off and head button .. then turn the crank over and notice how far the liner comes out of the block at TDC .. it shouldnt be more that 3 mm ..

os p-3, mark I will take head off and do as you suggested. I got 4 tanks through it total today. Very nice work mark! When I did the run in oil I heated the engine up then ran on the box as per instructions. I was just barely able to turn over by hand with fly wheel on,and that was really trying. And the only reason I did that was to work the oil up and down the liner. I will say on thing the needles are very touchy on these engines. So far I am loving it. The power comes on very smooth. My other go-tecs are more aggressive as far as I am concerned. And by that I mean in their power delivery. The mg66 seems to want to come on and keep going. I set my throttle travel to a max of 50% and only hit that a few times to clear it out. It was 56-60 degree's out today and the engine stayed 210-230ish range. when I had the foil on it I did get 260ish so I removed foil. The engine doesn't like it cold. Even though I only have 4 tanks on it you can tell when it hits it's sweet spot,as far as heat go's.

He he he Wait until you get around the 20 tank mark Matt, and you have leaned that puppy out to near race tune. You will be very happy
With the 2072 on them, these things growl and really ROCK !!!

Go is an OEM for a lot of other brands. You'd be surprised. Still, each product is unique in its own way, and built to the specs of the designer.

no, but you can run the current .25 with a turbo head, and it's pretty dialed for truggy use. Additionally, the GX-5R with the EFRA pipe is quite potent, even in a heavier truggy.

Your correct trey go make the following and more

Alpha engine parts except the block
JS motors
Marks baby the MG66.
preciprocate engines
Caster grenade was made by them to .

and many more are Go engine factory oems but not designed by go but materials are the same.

Yep Go have something special going at the moment from what i see.The same way Nova works with Rb ,Jp siim etc and Os with ninja ,sh with nosram and lrp and so on
