I saw this motor had a chrome plated sleeve, just wondering how it compared to ABC for longevity? I'm looking for another motor and all the reviews seem great for the B5. I have a Dynamite 053 pipe, will it work for this motor?

The werks motor is a ABC
A=Aluminum Piston
B=Brass Cylinder
C=Chrome Plating

I guess they just list it differently I was going by their description on A-main, like for a JX21 and most others I've seen it says ABC for the sleeve. The B5 just says chrome plated for the sleeve. So how about the 053 pipe, any good for the B5?

The 053 is fine but you'll get less run time. The 2035 will give you just as much low end with more mid and top and 10 min run times.

Pulled from the description at amain...
"The B5 engine features Werks Racing's unique "Team Line" split transfer case design with their signature stiffening ribs around the sleeve area of the case to control expansion. The 5 port, ABC construction sleeve and high-silicon aluminum alloy piston have been hand matched for optimum performance and life span...."

But I do see what youre talking about in the spec list

I generally don't take a new engine apart to look at how pretty it is, and maybe you didn't either. However, if you'd like to see what a brand new B5 looks like (it's puuuurrrrty!) check out the new issue of R/C Car magazine. Great review of the B5 in there.

If you look back somewhere in the last 30 or so pages you will see a video posted of Kortz running the engine at I believe it was the Nitro Pit.

Glad to hear that, I don't think tha you will be disapointed! Most importantly please nite that Kortz only runs box stock engines. No factory modified, sealed, special engines! We pull them off the shelf and race what we sell. If it's not good enough to run with we simply do not sell it! So in a nutshell you are getting the exact same engine that can easily run at the top of the field.....for only $199 lol!

As the new years rapidly aproaches I would like to take a second to thank all of you that have used our products and supported our company over the last year. 2009 has been a challenging year for all with the global economic crisis. It's been a year that has hit our industry hard. It's been a year that has caused me to re-evaluate our focus, our pricing and my business goals in general. From this has come some good thing such as our new B5. A engine that I believe sets the bar for what people can and should expect for their dollar! I'm happy to say that I have a lot of things in the werks (lol) for 2010 and wanted to thank all of our old as well as new customers for giving our stuff a shot. We strive to make the best products on the market and at the end of the day I think it is realy important that companies realy remember what is important....our customers! So again, thank you and may 2010 be an awesome year for all of you and your families!

Best Regards,

Ron Hopkins
