Zixxer,

There is a new BOSS engine coming out that is tuned by Mario Rossi. Not for sure if it will be in the states but it looks like it will be a great engine! I found the info on NEOBUGGY about a week ago.

Until someone starts offering up new con rods
to fit the GRP engines, they aren't worth two
cents. As of now they are just glorified paper
weights and anyone would be a fool to buy one,
new or used. You guys looking for engines, please
heed my warning and don't waste your money on
an engine that you can't get parts for.

Dude that may be how you feel about them-but there are plenty people out there who still like the motors and have parts for them. Maybe someone needs an inexpensive reliable motor to finish out the year. There are still several people who continue to run these motors and have great success in doing so, sorry if you are are having a bad season and feel it necessary to bash a product to make you feel better!

Dude...you CANT buy parts for them,.....At least the Important part's anyways.....therefor they are a Total waste to invest in.....WHAT IF something happens....you just wastes the initial investment as the important parts are Near IMPOSSIBLE to find at a reasonable price....i dont feel as through he was bashing the motor in any which way shape or form...he was informing they are no longer availible and parts are VERY hard to come by...so what's the point.

I was NOT bashing the engines one bit.
I own two of them. They were great engines
and if I could find some con rods, I would still
be running them. I have been looking for rods
forever and have even asked a few machinist-
modders if the could make them. Until then,
they are a nice set of book ends.
There are plenty of descent used engines for
sale in the "For Sale" threads of this site that
a person can still buy parts for. I know the truth
sometimes hurts, but facts are facts and I can't
change them. Sorry.

There a few places out there that will press a new bushing in your rod (RAYARACING?). I have never had a rod that had excessive play at the pin end it was always the bushing that would get sloppy. So if you need a new rod I would try this and a pinch($30 for both?). The plus to everyone dumping there motor is you can pick up one cheap. As far as investment(probally the wrong word for this hobby) you get a motor that is good for $200. Someone like me who races 10 times a year thats atleast 2 years of motor or $20 per race-cheaper than your tire bill. I have never been a fan of doing the total rebuild thing anyway. Right now I have a speed. To rebuild it right p/s $130-con rod $45-new ceramic bearings $60. Thats close to $250(Ebay prices not retail) and i still have a used case(OS do break)/crank/carb. There are alot of good new motors for that price or allittle more. So I dont see the problem if you can find one thats in good shape. These motor are sweet. they have won a ton of races the last few years.

How is a used grp worth any less than a used picco? your screwed on parts both ways, unless you like paying $200 for the piston and sleeve for your $220 engine from picco.
