Thanks Frank. I am going to go B5.

I figure that motor seems to be doing great for most guys and its a $200 italian machined engine. With the season winding down I think it's just important to get something going to be able to race. Then when next season kicks up invest in another motor for serious races and keep the B5 for practice and club racing.

BTW I think next seasons motor will be the ninja

Sound like sound reasoning?

Hey guys, what a nightmare day today. They threw 17 truggies in one race on a pretty tight track. Was horrific to say the least what with the disparity in skill levels. I really did not enjoy the truck at all today.

With the changes I made, the rear end was all over the place. Into the braking zone, the back end would snap, coming out of the corners, even with an overly rich engine, the back end would go. I just could not keep it planted.

I upped the front toe to 5 degs and re-set my ride height to 38 and 42 and reduced the front droop to 108mm.

For the final I upped the rear diff to 3k, which did seem to help a little.

I must say though that on power steering was greatly improved, still not great, but much better. The turn in was amazing. Just that back end, it's like it belonged to a different car.

Any suggestions guys?

I am still curious how the losi 454 works though. You can get them real cheap and then I wonder how well it would do modded for run time.... I could possibly get multiples of that motor and set each up differently. Just thinkin big picture

Thanks
I have a Losi 454 engine(the one that the rtr 8t 2.0 comes with) And it works pretty good. Pretty easy to tune and has lots of power

on my ninja
(steel flywheel)...i run 2 composite on silver springs
and 2 alum on black springs..
For club racing I used the 28xz with the 7MM with 2060 and I get 9-10 minutes for run time however more stress on the components especially bearings but I love running over the 21's on the straights Race day I use my 21 World II with EB button awesome engine.

question for ya reg...ninja being a .28 ? why the silver on comp's....the motor (if .28) has More then enough power to pull a way lighter spring and give you alot more life.
sorry for being late...

but you are correct it is WAAYYY over powering and harder in stuff..

and i run that clutch set up on my 21's...when we ran that 28 in my truck i put the all 4 alum with i think it was black springs...im not for sure

I just put the Losi clutch in my truck for the first time. I have 4 aluminum shoes with 2 gold and 2
Silver springs. I followed the clutch break in procedure, and ran a tank in front of my house. The
Bottom end punch was a joke. It had none. Wouldn't even break the tires loose on full throttle
Take offs. I only had time to run 1 tank though. My questions are do I have to give the clutch more
Time to break in because everything is new? And how aggressive should this setup hit on the bottom
End? Does anyone else use this setup?

IDK if its going to ever smoke the tires. These trucks are geared for off road, the traction on a good day is still very slippery so comparing to the street just wont work. The silver springs are the hardest on the clutch you will eat clutch shoes very very quickly. I have gone through a set of m2c lightened shoes in a 15 min main with gold and silver springs. I still didnt feel like I had enough bottom end. BTW what engine are you running?

I'm running a Trinity Ex Tech E.B. Mods raced prepped .24. I'm just trying to compare this
Clutch to my 3 shoe clutch. With a new 3 shoe clutch on my engine with composite shoes
And Mugen 1.1 springs it would almost seem to explode out of the hole when I stabbed
The throttle. Even on the street it didn't matter it would just fry the tires. Can I ever
Expect that type of acceleration from the Losi clutch?

You are running the strongest clutch setup with silver springs. I dont think it will do what you want it to.
