The TA-05MS is a very good rubber car and I run mine in 13.5 too, I manage to compete very well against guys running 416's, Cyclones and Mi3.5's. I got the car with the short arms already installed so couldn't give you a comparison on the car with the regular arms and the short arms. If I had to compare my 416 and TA-05MS then I'd say the 05 has better overall balance and more neutral handling than the 416, although my fastest lap at my home track is still around 0.2 quicker with the 416 I'm more consistent with the TA-05MS.

i've only raced the MS with rubber tyres in 13.5, modified and 10.5 classes with both the short and long arms setups.. i found the chassis to be very competitive with the likes of the 416, TC5, 008, 009, JRXS-R and other 'high end' chassis..

a long arms stiffer suspension setup suited the chassis well but i found i was still lacking some of the transitional handling from left/right so i moved to the short arms setup (like the 416) and found that the chassis was faster through chicanes and was giving me more corner speed throughout other corners as well..

in short, i'm recommending the TA05MS with short arms

Thanks for all the help guys. I am looking into trying a new chassis and this one seems to be a good balance of what I am looking for. Figure that with the 416 suspension, it should be a good 13.5 rubber asphalt car.

Any suggestions on what hopups to get? I was gonna get the spool and the 416 short arm suspension upgrade. Anyone have a good starting setup for low/medium traction asphalt/parking lot track? I will be running 13.5 BL (Speed Passion V1.1 and Speed Passion 13.5).

You don't really need any hop ups except maybe a spool, but if your track suits 13.5 with a one-way you might not need it.

Looking at the manual, it carries a mid 2007 date.

Hello everyone,

Just pick up a TA05MS. Was wondering if it can be converted to the IFS. I know there is a how to on the Tamiyausa site for this conversion for the regular TA05, but there is no mention whether or not it can be done with the MS.

Cheerz,

Sorry, that can't be done.

But the TA05-R is easy to make IFS.

I'm using spool and 4.0r brushless on medium grip tarmac.I'm planning using hi_808 setup.few questions:
1.What is the position for the front and rear lower shock mount on arm?
2.Have you put spacers under rear susp.mount?if so,how much?
3.What is the position for the rear upper shock mount?
4.What front and rear stabilizer do you used?
Tks
