I wonder what that is going to have on it over the TA05R. What I'm more curious about is the TA05-IFS.
And the HOtshot is coming back I can relive my childhood lol

No sooner is the 05 out than we are talking MS and IFS

It's still an intermediate car, I know from experience you can spend WAY too much on hop ups on these buggers

(ps mine is on ebay, bid!)

Glad I switched to the MSX

YES!!! That Hot shot is going right next to my Frog re-release!!

Anyone have anymore details on the IFS or MS specs?

The aluminum bulkhead is going to be a nice piece as well.

nexxus: I agree that the TA05 is an intermediate car (damn nice one) but it's really the mid-motor equal drive-belt set-up that I really like. That being said, tech racing came out with a rear engined TA05??? Why didn't they just hop-up a TA04 if that were the case!

I say bring back a high-end front-engined all-wheel drive TC !!!

Core Creations 04-17-2007 09:06 AM

I disagree on it being a mid level car...at least performance wise. I would put up my car against any other car and feel 100% confidence it could hang.

infokiz 04-17-2007 10:17 AM

I totally agree with Core Creations. Don't let that plastic tub fool you this car is more than capable of hanging with and beating the higher end touring cars that are currently on the market.
At the last big race I was at there was a guy there with his TA05R and he was sticking it to the sponsored guys with the high end cars.

Wow, this thread is a bit late...

I have some post on it in the TA05 thread already ;)

Huh...

The 05 has been out since, oh I don't know 2005, its now 2007. How is that 'no sooner does it come out than we are talking about the MS"? Did you mean the 05R, cause thats the only way that statement makes any sense.

And the only way anyone can spend "WAY too much" is if they're buying things they don't really need. I don't see how thats the car's fault. :weird: I have almost every hop up they make on the car and barely have $300 into mine. Thats still $100 less than brand new cars.

And the only thing that makes people see this car as mid-level is the chassis.

-People love the drivetrain
-The suspension is proven race components(whether your using light weight or regular)
-Shocks are proven and are often used on other brands of race cars.

So the only thing left is the chassis... So if it gets a graphite plate chassis, suddenly it'll be a "top of the line" racer....I guess thats how it works in people's minds...

Oh, or I guess we have to see a team driver use it before its officially "top end".

I'd laugh my crack off if a TRF driver showed up and dominated with a TA05 at Reedy. I remember Jun running an EVO 4 there even thought eh rest of the team was running the 415.

I am wondering this MS version might be the 911 verison TA05 that is with the old school 911 body and the chassis are the upper lower carbon fiber chassis version...........since ppl cannot buy that TA05 as a kit, Tamiya might release that as a kit...the MS version.

if that is the case..........R is still the better car I think, budget vise..

You mean the 30th anniversary car they did? That was an awesome spec but had a price to match! If I remember rightly it wasn't as long as a standard touring car. It'd have to be TA05 length if they wanted anyone to buy it.

Core Creations 04-17-2007 02:40 PM

I would highly doubt it....that car wasn't even a "real" TA05...just based on it. I don't see any real market for a short wheelbase car.

Ha...and I thought there are something wrong with my eye, that "TA05" looks shorter, and like a 1/12th TC but it said it is 1/10th....
For that price....why not MSXX..?

It is 10th scale, just a 10th scale 911 as opposed to a longer sedan. The spec of the kit is up there with the msxx, but as it's limited edition and to built especially for the 30th anniversary it costs more.
