It takes a turbo plug. P3/4 or Odonnell 97T. AE has plugs coming out.

The way Saxton told me to break in was, Heat the motor to 200 with the heat gun. Then idle 4 tanks, keeping the temp around 200. Make sure the let the engine fully cool down between tanks, and use the heat gun to warm up each time. When the tank is empty, make sure the piston is Bottom dead center.

Once you have the 4 tanks idled, run 2 tanks on the ground, with a max of half throttle pull, again, heat gun before starting, and piston on the bottom.

After the 6 tanks, you can start to race tune, but leave it on the richer end for the first gallon. I use the heat gun on my engine for the first gallon. After that, you will notice you can lean the motor a little more.

Be ready, this motor will feel slow when you are on the track alone, but when you are around other cars, you can see how fast it really is. The power band is super smooth, hence why some say it lack top end. It really doesnt, its just so smooth, its not like the typical motor that either is idling or running like a bat out of hell. This is great because it lessens wheel spin, and helps fuel economy. I will stand by this motor, as i just received my 2nd motor for my truggy friday, and will be starting break in monday.

I have 3 gallons through mine now. I broke it in the way Saxton said, thinking back its almost exactly like the instructions that come with the motor tell you to do. I have been very happy with this motor. Fast and smooth throttle response. Can idle for days, no more flame outs while waiting for marshall or race start (yes I do jab the throttle, but its nice to know that you really don't have to).

I had to gear up a bit (more top speed), but honestly I have not noticed much of a loss in accleration. Today I ran with the 1/8 buggies as I was the only Truggy there. Was a great race, and I can truely say, even in my RC8T nothing was pulling on me.

Great motor, well worth the bang for the buck.

I run Odonnel 97T, with Byron 30%/ 11% btw and FT 2035 pipe running at 250 - 260 degrees. But I tune to feel and smoke more then temp as I have yet to see an accurate temp gun at our track :P I can get 7 1/2 - 8 minutes.

Seriously though, people bash companies to much on the Internet. There is no need for 3 responses back2back saying the exact same thing, which is false. I have seen these, and ran a few. It doesn't seem as fast because it is smoother, and not as snappy. I personally saw a Reedy .21, Nova +4, OS Speed nose to tail down a 90-110ft front stretch, and they didn't seperate.

If you can not get this great fairly cheap motor to hang with novas and os', then maybe you should ask for break-in assistance or tuning assistance on your next mil.

im sorry (brandon) but did it ever flash in your mind that associated drivers only use fully modded and ported engines?! THEY DO.

do you really think maifield would go out and race with something you can run quicker down the strait with?

Just FYI. Reedy drivers do use stock off the shelf motors. Dont buy the hype that all pros run mod motors.

I know several team drivers, and they do run STOCK motors. You guys crack me up with the theory of ALL pros run modded motors ALL the time. I know Maifield ran stock Reedy's in Truggy and Buggy at The Futaba Challenge, there was plenty of Crazy engines that were more powerful than his, it was easy to pick out those engines, but he still won both classes....Hmm How can that be???? Driving!!

I am sure the Pros run modded motors for Big Events, but they also run stock mills and most team guys run stock or are testing different configurations for the next generation engines that will be coming out.

Okay so spoke to soon. Well not really :P Looks like after 3 1/2 gallons and the bearings are a bit gritty. No biggie. So going to replace them. Thinking of going with the TKO ceramics. Any feedback on these would be great. Also being as the Incredible Hulk put in the head screws they are a bit stripped from getting them out. Does anyone know the size of these four bolts as I don't really want to buy the complete screw kit for just these.

I run only TKO Peter Martin runs @ Revelation so most at the track run his Berings even some pros....they are the best for your money ,full ceramic imo are a waist of money......

Peter with TKO is top notch. I would recommend anything he sells. For those of you that clean your filters, he sells Rock oil, which is by far the best filter oil there is.
