I've had my struggles in the past. I've had very good tuners around me though. I got a pretty good handle on it now. I still have lots to learn though.

The reedy mounts the carb to the motor much a like a car. Instead of there being a pinch bolt the are screws that screw into the motor case. Those are the ones people may be putting locktite on. Don't forget about the gasket that goes under the carb, with out it you'll have a big air leak when you put it back together.

Ran my Reedy @ rev's on Sunday: Losi 2.0,30% Byron 2035 pipe and od97t and it ran really good about 210- 230 all day . It keeps up with the best of them. and the straight is almost 200ft long...It has about 3 gal. on it , so im thinking about a new p/s/r and new tko's when it falls on its face. i hope it has another gallon of life? The powers is smooth and the top end is better i even ran a 13t clutchbell. I did seal the carb/backplate. it helps...

One of my reedy's is on gallon 5 and still getting stronger. It still cant be turned over by hand very easily, and its been over 300.

ya that's just how it feels out of the car at 3 gallons ,kinda soft .(fully broken in ) but, hey it could go more? The motor runs the best it has ever ran, ill run another full gallon and report on it. I ran a bunch of 3-4 consecutive tanks w/ no flame-out or fluctuation in temps i always run about 1/2 to 2/3 gallons before it touches the track. my ninja/rb/novas always go into the 7-8 gallon range, im anal w/ brake-ins.

my reedy is done on mid way threw 4th gallon, 3rd gal had to replace bearings, fixed leaking carb, need to replace rod & case from rod rubbing and no compression, always screamn at 270-280 still runs somehow, last race took 1st place,i would go down the stright wide open and it sounds like a mini rod knock when i let of the gas.

I run this in my RC8T and it does have enough power for me ? It has good bottom end and enough top end to keep you in the front ! I can clear jumps out of corners and still haven't even really reached its top yet ! And for the price you can't go wrong ! Ill order another one as soon as I need a mill !

you do want more torque but i usually run 5 ports in my truggies i had a 3 port race go in my buggy this year and loved it was very smooth . im just in a tossup of puytting new p/s/r in my go 5port race or buying the reedy motors for my buggy and truggy, or the werks 5 port look like a good deal.

In the context of a discussion about a race between Jared and Ryan, it's simple deductive reasoning (that "we as humans" all learned in third grade) that suggests:

They didn't tech the fuel tanks +
who knows who was legal or not +
"I know Ryan's tanks are legal" =

Jared's tank(s) many or may not have been legal.

Jamminay - the choice of words DOES allow for the possibility that Jared may or may not have been running an illegal tank - it's simple reading comprehension. And, he never mentioned anything about the fuel line. I'm assuming that a better choice of words would have avoided the suggestion, but I wanted to give Brent a chance to clarify.

pwnzor - I hope you won the office pool for throwing in that $5 word. I also hope your study in the Queen's English pays off some day.

I came into this thread to see more about the engine because I've been pretty impressed with the way it's been running and not to nitpick anything. It's not my intention to pick an eFight - just wanted to make it clear for anyone else that's reading this that neither of Jared's cars are out of spec. It looks like the Associated guys did a good job on this engine and I'll watch with interest when the engine is released.
whats all this about a second petrol tank... How r people managing 2 tanks fitted on one car??? that would be sweet
