Not sure if its the noise your talking about but check your gear mesh..sometime if it gets loose you can hear it lash if you hit the breaks when your in the air or on the box

There is a guy that is doing a mod to the rear end that uses an xray XT8 pinion. He did some testing and found that the pinion is what is causing the problems. The contact patch is less than desirable even when brand new. I just ordered the parts to send to him. I will let you guys know how it goes. He has already been testing it himself as have a couple of other guys with good results.

What made the track brutal on R and P's? I am guessing high bite blue groove?

Lots of on throttle landings. Big pointless ski jump in the middle that required constant throttle corrections. Brutal rythm section that only a select few could do consistantly. More about the design of the track than the surface.

Throttle or Steering?
I know you had the noisey steering servo. But have you had a prob with the throttle aswell

I have found that my Throttle servo was rubbing on the side against the plastic chassis guard. It hadn't caused me any problems, but i cut off that part of the guard so it doesnt rub anymore.
I know alot have had problems with the steering servo because the servo saver was to tight or the spring was not seated right. some have reverted back to the 8T spring instead or simply backed the spring off as far as they can before it hits the chassis. this seems to fix the problem for some but not all

I just bought a new 8t 2.0 and put in the front and center smart diffs and drove it around the yard and mine made the same noise but I drove it on the track yesterday and it didnt seem to make the noise then and i ran about 7-8 tanks thru it
