I just got my .21 Pre-Run from Amain yesterday. Sweet looking engine. I took it apart to inspect just like all the other brand new engines i buy. I took the back plate off. Do you know where the grove is in the side of the motor where the backplate goes into. I saw what I think is a little crack. Im thinking I should send it back to Amain or should I send it to Trinity? Its the new model by the way?

I was expecting this extech 2 to be dyno tuned, but upon reading the ad it says tuned to be the same as the original prior to breaking in
so it will run like a new one but is not tuned to go faster
again EB mods dyno tunes it and leaves the carb settings
this is how my other 2 eb mods motors were, unfortunately I did not know that eb mods does not do the tuning for extechs anymore
I like my engines tuned because I am horrible and too soft on the engines, I keep it a little rich, that is why I will pay for a pretuned one if possible
maybe next up will be the massive mods go

I think Epic is sending them out set fat due to the fact that tuned in one climate might not be tuned in another.. Its really only to protect the consumer and IMO is very smart. I had an original EB FM Ex-tech and it came the same way as the new sirios running fat. When they break them in they run 500 ml through them and still require some break in. I know it says you can just throw it in the car and go, which you could cause it is ready to go however it still would be wised to run a few more tanks at a fat setting IMO.

Who has any of these restrictors in stock??

Has anybody took apart this engine to look inside well i did i found rust on the crank and the rear bearing and also found a crack inside the case right by the bearing i have the pre-run race tuned .21 and im running byron's 30 percent

Rust has nothing to do with the motor. Has to do with either where the motor is stored, is it damp or humid, is after run oil used and also the fuel that is being used can cause rust after running and letting the motor sit. I used to have that rust problem with some fuels till I switched to Cold Fusion. I am not one to bash so I will not mention the other fuels. Now the crack I do not know. It may be just a casting mark and not a crack at all. These cases are cast aluminum as far as I know so you do see some stuff like that.

And also had oil on the side of the case but there is a crack right by the bearing you can feel it with ur finger i really like the motor i use byron's 30 percent with 11 percent oil so it should have enough lubrication in the motor i will post some pictures of the crack

Send it back.Chad's a standup guy.If your motor has a crack they will make it right with no problems.Thats the way they do things.Good company and good men.You can trust them.

I took my Extech fully modded .24 out for its maiden voyage this past weekend at round 4 of the JBRL Series, and WOW!!! I finally found the power I was craving all along for my 8ight-T 2.0! It helped me place 2nd in Sportsman Truggy A-Main. The engine ran flawlessly all weekend long, with awesome power and very respectable run times (9-10min, still running rich). For anyone that feels a .21 doesn't quite offer enough power for your truggy, this is the hot ticket for sure.

For all of the extec fans. I would personally not used after run oil on this engine. I dont know if it was the brand so I wont mention what I used however its a very common brand name.

I am almost postive this caued the silicone putty to fall out of the crank. I dont think I will ever have it filled and just run it like it is. I have had a few races without it and the engine runs amazing.

Just my 2 cents for all of you goin to purchase and run this engine.

If it uses the same carb as the .21 a nova or os carb will work.

I have a grp carb. on a extech 1 . The 2 should use the same carb. Chad has my 2 at the moment so i can't verify they are the same.
