Run the T-1050 pipe and header with an O.S. RP7 plug. You will be very happy. I run this setup currently on 16% and it flies!

Why wouldnt i go for a Novarossi 2630 pipe & 6 FIN Conical Manifold set over the T-1050.

The Nova i can get for like $100AUD landed but if i went the T-1050 ill be up like double the price..... Why so expensive in the OS product coz its OS?

Cheers
Frankie

Frankie, the thing with OS engines is that since it has such a humongous torque, the engine needs a pipe which enhances the mid and high end of the power band, and tht is where OS's own pipe excels, the other pipe which works well is the Mielke pipe, now regarding your question of which Nova pipe to use, i would go with the 2601 with 5 fin header...as for plugs, do yourself a favor and stay with OS's new rp6 or rp7, depending on nitro and weather conditions

Bye

6 months ago, one guy almost match my straight line speed with the normal OS 12TZ P3.some more he's a newbie and i tuned that engine. i was running my nova 3sct tuned version that time!! its a fast engine with half the price of my nova. in the end i brought OS speed spec2. felt good and satisfied till the last drop of fuel

I have an OS TZ and I usually run it at 2 1/2 turns out on the HSN. I'm currently using the following, O'Donnell 20% fuel, OS #6 plug, and the OS 1040 pipe or the Skyline pipe. This weekend when using the Skyline pipe I adjusted the HSN to 1 3/4 turns as mentioned in this thread and the temp went to 333 F. Normally the temp is in the range of 220F to 240 F at 2 1/2 turns. Is this temperature normal at this needle valve setting?

normally engine should be run below 130 degree celcius or 266 Fahrenheit.
when u tune down your hsn from 2 1/2 to 1 3/4 turns, definitely temp will rise. that's the fact
the next time u don't have to follow exactly what people wrote in forums. maybe its true on his side of the story due to his location ambient temperature, atmospheric pressure and humidity or maybe engine status.
every time i change my pipe, i would richen out hsn needle by at least 1/8 turn. then i tune to temperature. sometimes by sound, acceleration or even smoke as indication.

since u over heat ur engine too much, its better u check with LHS or any one with engine experience regarding ur engine condition.

hope this help

Thank you for the advice. The engine looks ok so far but I'll give it a run tomorrow to make sure everything is fine with it for racing this weekend.

All my TZ are doing the same thing like yours....but it did not do any problem....so I just leave it like that....some told me that the tune is on the rich side....thats why the oil leak a bit...

IMO, OS 12 TZ engines are good for weekend runs, reasonably priced... just make sure you run not too lean, probably slightly rich and check d bearings often, they tend to wear faster than d others.

in my experience, i already snapped 2 conrods tuning it to run at par with the fast guys...
probably my fault but usually running it lean u get an overheat... not a snapped conrod... waisted 2 sets of P/S on a lean setting...

I will try to lean it a bit and observe the difference.
THanks bro..

Anyway..if we chg the bearings from normal to ceramic type, does it shows any changes?how is performance wise?or is it just to make the bearing last longer?pls advice..plan to chg both to ceramic..
