I have ordered some parts from them this past Monday. will see how long it takes to get here. they are in Canada, I am in Cali. And I will say that he did refund immediately the money for the parts he did not have in stock.if you are looking for go tec parts go see mark at massive mods. It will save you a lot of grief. also 22racer is a go dealer here in the U.S. I have emailed, phoned left message for Russ Jones from race factor industries. that was on Monday still haven't heard from him. Look do your self a favor, who ever you order from order more then you need,2-3 of everything. with massive mods there is a minimum 6.00 shipping charge to U.S. so when you by from him make it worth your while. The other thing with mark at massive is he will more then likely have everything you need in stock. It might take 5-8 days to get your parts from Sidney but it is so worth it. I could right an essay on trying to get parts here in the states. IT WON'T HAPPEN UNLESS SOME ONE LIKE 22 RACER HAS THEM,PERIOD!Because it will not be race factor. I keep hearing how great Russ is but have never got a bit of service from him or his company. Mark I swear as god is my witness I will only buy my go parts from you from now on. Just to save my sanity.

Why can't one just just drop a new engine in, break it in, tune it up and GO? NO NO NO got to go to the hardware store and buy a drill bit to set idle, buy sensor safe sealant, tear it down, seal it up, teflon tape the needles, do the hokey pokey and pray it will tune. My fuel tank and and lines are new and pressure tested so I know it's the damed carb. Can't wait for the Novarossi carb to come in the mail.

I'm sure it's me and I don't know what I'm doing but I've never had to put this much effort into getting an engine to run right. I had better luck with the older gen GO carbs.

You need to set idle gap on every motor made. I have not been sealing anything on my Go motors. There are a few tricks with Picco's and other motors as well.

I agree with 22 racer on the idle gap. for some reason go-tec's seem more sensitive to that then other engines I have owned. I would have to say that would be because we use the lsn to tune it in. as far as sealing up the go-tec engines I did not until this past Sunday when I took my 5-port apart. now I will seal every engine I own, especially the go-tec's. when I can't get a 2.00 seal here in the states it's time to take extra measures to not ruin my engines.

By the way Rex have you tried the nitride parts yet?[crank shaft] Just wondering what you thought of them? advantage or gimmick? we are having a similar discussion on the shock towers, carbon fiber or aluminum on are jamminx-2s.

Hello Go gurus

Need help for stop chasing tune...

What might cause this, and what to do-

Carb has been sealed, gap is about 0,99mm, fully warmed, tuned at half tank but, in finals (30min.) when you fill up, for few laps it does not clear up and is slower, but does not really bog, after 3-4laps it sort of wake up and start show power of 5port, at the end of tank it scream and fly, at end of tank temp is about 150C.And then again as you fill tank story goes again

Thanks

Spura,

Mhhhh "assuming" your carb tuning its OK, i've been on that trouble over a friends car testing a GO 5 port, and by the behaviour you describe during different "stages" of the tank being filled full, medium and low levels of fuel, i think maybe its your tank not giving back enough constant pressure.

Try changing exhaust lines longitude and/or changing fuel tank. Here specially on Hyper 8.5 cars we discovered the tank not having good seal and the tune of the engine changed as the fuel level went down on the tank.

On my 5 ports, usually temp when the tank goes dry its no more than 138°C, and average 125°C-130°C during the rest of the run.

hope to help,

cya

Thanks Tabushi,

But if we "assume" that tuning went wrong, then?

Also what length of tube you run?

The tank is quiet new, but I did not test it.

Spura, good luck getting that motor figured out! Please post if you do. I finally retired my GO this weekend after it let me down AGAIN! I had the same problems you described, put on two new tanks, replaced pressure and fuel lines multiple times, put on NOVA carb. Mine only has 3 gallons on it and it has NEVER been consistant. I thought I would save $$$ and buy a GO, by the time I replaced all the parts, DNF's, I should have stuck with the NOVA's.
Just so you know I have been racing 1/8 nitro buggy for years and have never had a motor frustrate me so badly. Good luck with yours and let us know if you get it fixed.

back about ten pages in this thread I do believe this was covered. try leaning the hsn no more then 1/16th at a time until you have good stop-full run operation. Yours is doing the opposite of what was discussed. at half tank we were experiencing lean bog,so I believe it was mark from massive mods or grizz who gave the fix to richen in small amounts until it stopped. fix worked.

on your go tech engine have you tried a different pipe at all and are the seals any good , i have had trouble with pipe and tuning and it was something with the baffles in side the pipe not suppling sufficiant / erratic pressure to the tank also i have been told that approx 12 inches of pressure tube is the ideal length running to your tank as the pulsation from the pipe can make a big difference to fueling and tuning after the tank has been filled... i have had similar problems with different engines but after doing those few things and checking everything over problem went away in long finals give it a go nothing to loose

Hey ridein04,

Thanks, I know will sort together out, BUT please give a try one more time to Go, I believe there is a light at end of tunnel

I am a believer of Goengines, I fully understand that they are "little" different...but give a try, one more time

if your worried about your tank seal bend the spring down alittle harder so it seals tighter assuming the oring is okey

this is exactly why i dont come on rc tech much more because people bash people and dont give them a chance to help maybe not right away but people are too damn quick to judge a person or company im sure massive mods is great i have not personally delt with mark and i have delt with rex welch a bunch and will keep coming back . it takes couple days for me to get with him too but i dont care because i know he will call back when available. im not only saying this because i am a sponsored guy either ive known him for about 4 plus years now.

all you guys that are having carb issues is because these carbs are alittle touchy, i have nether swapped a nova rossi/os carb to it because i know how they work with tune. the low end on these motors are very responsive on how the motor runs. i dont see the point of swaping carbs you might as well buy a different engine and run it . i am running the new ebmods 5 port and it has the coated crank and wrist pin and slide carb and its nice. carb is alot smoother and all the internals are not wearing as bad . Pierre/FX-Racing Hobby is great. Some of the best pricing on Go parts.

I wouldn't hesitate to deal with him. He'll get you what you need.
