i bought a havok 8.5 system in feb. and esc has run fine but 2 sensor wires broke off right at the harness(going into the esc) in a middle of the damn race. I've never touched any of the wires it was all connected and soldered right out of the box. I had th spend 15 bucks to have it shipped, they got it friday, and still no response.......tried emailind today...see what happens. Guess i should be happy its not the esc like you guys.....not yet at least

Hello,
I recently purchased the havoc 10.5. I am not using lipo batteries yet. Car runs for a few minutes and then it cuts out, i get the red and green lights flashing alternately. Is this the same esc problem people have been having or is my settings just wrong.

Same problem as everyone else. You will have to send it in for an update.

As much as I have had an unhappy experience with the Havoc, I have to say that the Novak customer service is fantastic. They respond quickly and will do their best to make you happy. They are a good company to deal with. If you have any problems with your product, talk with NovakTwo. He's a stand up guy from Novak.

Well my Havoc has just started doing what everyone elses has been doing, motor thermal cutoff keeps cutting in at 130-140 degrees.
to Steve Weiss, I have sent you an email to your Novak address in regards to this problem. I hope living in Australia won't prevent me from a fast reponse in sorting this issue out.

Got mine last weekend with a SS 13.5, ran all weekend at 165 deg with no problems. Mine was fresh on the shelf, came in that day so it might have been a newer one and not one that was laying around for a while.

I purchased a 8.5 for my T4 and it was doing the same thing... it would die after about a minute or two of running.
I sent it to Novak, and in a short two weeks (short?) I had it back. Now it runs like a charm. And it's pretty robust.... I have a 23-tooth pinion on it and it flies.
The paperwork said that the software needed to be reprogramed. Eventhough I'm running NiMH packs and had the LiPo disabled, the LiPo was constantly cutting off the juice (hence the red and green flashing LEDs).

You're lucky it only took 2 weeks, I'm in Australia and now having to send mine back to the states, kiss goodbye to over a months worth of racing by the time i get mine back. 6 meetings of no points

I can't speak for the regular Havoc, but I just picked up the 3s Havoc. The first one was doa, smoked almost as soon as I hooked up a battery. They shipped me out a new one and have ran a few packs through it and I think it is an excellent speed control.
The only downside to me is that you have to run a Novak motor on it, kind of cuts down my options.

On my XBR they told me any sensored motor within the esc's limits, havocs may be different though.

I've been running my Havoc with a 21.5 for a couple of race days and driving in my driveway. I haven't had any problems (knock on wood). This is my first jump into the world of brushless and I must say its great not worrying about all the maintenance that you have to do on brushed motors. When I pull the car off the track its barely warm. I'm running T/A and its working perfectly for me.
