I ran a tuned .21 last season with little or no problems with the promo kit 2053 FLS type pipe and averaged 10-10.5 min in an 8T. It had more than enough power for the heavy truggy and the mileage was excellent. I switched the header to a long header from Ninja and that helped the bottom end out. Not the fastest engine but very reliable. So reliable that I purchased 2 more one tuned and one non tuned both powerhouse modded. I like the GRP's

I just got back from the track and after a little over half of a gallon, the front bearing in my tuned 21 is done. The motor has been pre-heated before every start and was just coming into it's own when I started hearing the deadly shhhhhhhh. I'm wondering if I can get the distributor to send some replacements since it's virtually new.

Call them I have seen them provide great customer service and support. But I would highly reccomend replacing it with a TKO bearing. I lost the front bearing in a .21 tuned at 3 gal replaced it with a stock and went again at 5 gal. TKO still going strong at 8 gal. Replace with a TKO you will be glad you did.

Rear bearing is gone for sure and I'm pretty sure the front one is too or is real close. It hasn't leaked a drop but feels a little rough.

Default What to plug it with?

I have new Ninja GRP based engine with a Turbo plug and want to pick up some spare glow plugs. This is my first engine with a turbo plug. I have noticed that the GRP plugs are very expensive compared to the Rossi Turbo plugs. I picked up a Novarossi c6tf plug as a spare for this weekend. Will I have any problems using it?

What is a preferred plug for these engines?

Any guidance would be appreciated.

I have been using os p3 plugs in my grp engines with great success. They are a little cheaper than the grp plugs. I don't really like the grp plugs just my personal preference.

Hey guys,Have a question and I imagine it has been asked already...I have a non-tuned GRP.21 on the way and I was wandering what the differences were.I have seen that some parts are innerchangable.
I plan on heat cycling this motor for break in(trying a different route)It will be taking up home in my Losi8(1.0)
What kinda fuel do you guys run in your non-tuned mills...I am in south GA where it will soon be hot and high humidity....thanks

I have had great luck using sidewinder 30% exclusively, oh and I never use after run oil as sidewinder states there is no need. No problems ever. So far over 8 gal consumed on the same GRP with stock shimming and no cleaning maintenance unless a fluke accident allowed dirt into the engine. I have replaced the front bearing once at 4-5 gal. These engines are great mills.

Hey guys I have been reading this thread. I am considering buying the non tuned version because I will just be racing club races and maybe some series races on 150 ft straights or less. I have been looking around and found this:http://cgi.ebay.com/GRP-GS01K-21BU-E...3A1%7C294%3A50 Is this the same motor we get in states? I have bought stuff from them before with no problems. thnx. Why am I blowing glow plugs during break in? The first plug had a lot of oil residue buildup, second plug would glow until the very last coil. Am I running too lean on my bottom end?

Any thought would be of some help.

What plugs you running? What are you using for a glow igniter? I'm thinking bad plugs or glow igniter issues. If your worried about something bad (metal particals) maybe you should pull the head and inspect the head button and piston.

I'm running GRP 5 plugs with 30% Maxy's fuel. I use the Hot-Shot glow ignitor. I have one silver and two copper shims. I'm running the GRP 2053 pipe and header FLS. I'm on my 9th tank of fuel. I'm tuning for top end right about now. I notice that my bottom end is very strong.
