It's for the new 2009 efra specs, so the pipe makes less noise so probably less performance as well. I think you should only buy it if you need to run under the 09 efra spec, otherwise you will probably lose performance compared to the 2630 or 2601.

I thaught so too, thats why i have a 3501 on order and coming. i hope its just a number change, or this one is the thirsty equivelant to the 2630, as the 3501 was supposed to be the 3 chamber one for the 2601.

With the last EFRA AGM the members spoke out their concern about the 30xx exhausts and because the 35xx exhaust have the same design the members expected the same problems. Due new designs which will be introduced from 2011 on it was the choice to go on with the 20xx/25xx design of pipes.
Regarding this one, I think the new 353 has different timings and so they finetuned the exhaust to it.

so how would the 3501 compare to the 2601, im expecting a little less top speed, but maybe better fuel consumption ? and bottom end should be similar right if not just a little less ?

You can better stay away from the 3501. I do not know anything about this exhaust but the 30xx (.21 engines) exhausts creates a to small band of right adjustments and so it is very difficult to finetune an engine. Also small changes in the weather can make a huge difference in the adjustment.
Beside that, the engine did run hotter (in some occasions even +20 to +30C)
