I just saw the press release on the AE web site and it looks like a April release. I was told it would be earlier so we will have to wait and see.

Was at the track last night and was talking about the motor, he said late March early april. The first one that will come out will be the 2 needle standard version and after that will be the speed version with the tungsten weighted crank and better carb and that is the motor all the team guys are running.

Actually most of the team drivers are using this version while some others have been testing a future version. All the Euro drivers have had great success with the engine out of the box. The team driver have been testing the three needle carb to get it sorted out but that is becasue we are making them run it. If given the choice the 2-needle is preferred.

Rick,
The engine that Ryan was using in the YouTube video was that the 2 or 3 needle carb ?
Some people on this thread have said the engine can not go longer than 7 minutes. I have explained that there are many factors that go in into fuel milage. With that being said, I know the engine has been revised, tweaked and improved from the Worlds. My question is when did off the shelf engine go out for testing? And what has been the reported average fuel window of the Team drivers? I know some of us are not smooth on the throttle and others are so the fuel milage that I am looking for is a ball park.

hope to be 1st in line when the engine comes out.

I can say I saw Ryan coming in 3-4 laps before Tebo did for the pit stops at CRCRC.... From what it looked like Tebo's CRF had better mileage than the Reedy motors. I'm also a Reedy and AE fan and my eyes weren't to happy lets just say....
Of course I'm also a guy getting 13.3 mins out of my speed.....

I don't know which carb or restrictor he was using. Ryan is the kind of guy who wants to feel power and is reluctant to restrict the engine power with a smaller carb insert. He will get less run time.
I don't think his pit crew is confident in his ability to make long run times which means he comes in early on his first stop which sets the tone for the rest of the race. In buggy at Columbus, he came in two laps earlier than Tebo on stop 1, but then they stopped after an equal number of laps the rest of the race.
I was told that in Truggy, his pit man was not sure how much fuel he had left so he had to err on the side of caution and stop earlier to be safe.
The best part of this whole project has been proving that our group can make a good engine. It is a good feeling when drivers who are not required to run a Reedy engine are dropping their RB, GRP, and OS sponsorships so they can run it.

Hey rick,
if you want someone to test that Reedy engine on the North side of the engine can be your man lol....
but seriously i cannot wait to get my hands on one of these.... Had my LHS pestering his distributor since the first time i saw it in Maifield's Truggy
