thanks i email them and a ben martinez i think emailed me back and he he sending me a third new tank. i put my other new tank in and it ran fine for two tanks. so i hope this new tank is good so i can have a backup. forget the arms, shock shafts, glow plugs etc, you need a box of fuel tanks associated number one priority lol..... i still love my cars for now.

Just got it back from Chad and mine was shimmed wrong also but that was fixed. I use a P4 plug w/30% Byrons. When I try leaning the LSN to where it needs to be it constantly chatters, never going to a smooth idle. Really, with my other high end Italian mill I don't have to seal anything, does the ExTech need to be sealed everywhere? The carb seems well sealed with 2 O-rings. I dunno, maybe if all else fails.

I can attest to kyjoe chattering condition. I would think a motor of this caliber would not need to be sealed but clearly somthing is wrong. It is spitting a ton of raw fuel out of the pipe yet it idles erratic and chatters on the bottom end.

kyjoe - the needle settings are for our fuel.. set hsn and lsn flush then turn them out 1 full turn. you cant run the needles the same with byrons as you can with our fuel.. Byrons has more oil..
anytime you run a fuel with more oil, you have to run the needles richer.
I also ran fuel through your engine at the factory without any issues. You could have bad fuel also..

For what it's worth my pre run .24 fired right up, first turn. no problems at all then I leaned it out top and bottom a few hours and she rips like no other motor I have had.

Is there any wetness around the carb area? You may have a small leak or a tear in your carb boot. I had the exact same issue with my first mill and found a tiny slice in my carb boot. Threw a new boot on and all of the idling issues went away.
It was my first weekend with the "Big Boy" (2056 pipe) and all I can say is wow! I had been running the 2013 and I absolutely loved that thing but with the new pipe it makes the power band more linear and it upped my run time about 3 minutes. I had practice runs of 12:03 and 12:31. You could have laid the motor on your face afterwards it was so cool. Don't be scared of the ugly.
Thats on a "full mod" using the X-Tech #5 plug.

I ran a tank through today and it ran good and idled normally with the needles about 1/2 turn out from flush. The only problem I had was fuel leaking out from around the carb boot again. I removed the boot and found a flat spot in the carb housing where the boot seats and this is exactly where the fuel is coming out. You can see the flat spot just past the end of my finger. I don't think this is normal and I believe it's causing my problem. Sorry Chad, I'll be bugging you again tomorrow or you can PM and tell me what you think.
