I'm sure Mike has researched the pros and cons for aluminum parts. In some places on some trucks it is a good thing. Other parts it is not the wisest choice in my opinion.
This is a hobby and all the choices make it fun to build what you want. Some choices are wise - some not. Depends on what you are wanting out of it. It is all good fun however. Fun is what a hobby is about.

Strengthening one part of a car usually has the effect of putting more stress somewhere else on the car. It has to go somewhere.
Binding usually can be overcome with some creative engineering.
We can tell each other our opinions but it is up to them to use them or not. No one person knows it all. Last I checked I do not control anybody's wallet - including my own.
When it comes to wild driving and breaking parts you may be the expert here. I chose to run a different way. Mike will get his going his way. Ain't America great. Experimentation is part of the fun of this hobby. You get to be your own crew chief.

thanks Jeff
the ONLY reason for wanting alloy parts is the first truck cody had (rustler) I snapped the stock caster blocks with a half throttle crash. I put the alloy replacements in and never hurt them wit much more abuse. I wouldn't mine going to rpm at least cost wise but if I remember the last time I raced weren't there some t4 rpm arms broke? nothing is indestructable, but last I new metal was stronger than plastic. I could be wrong especially when it come to rc, I'm still in my first year and learning every day.

my slash is ALL RPM...
the only alloy part I would sujest for the slash is the bellcrank and gearcase($$$$
)
the alloy is stronger, but when it bends, it doesn't bend back.
yes, some T4/GT2 rpm arms were broke, IDK how it happend, but alloy arms would have broken, or bent in that case too. AND they would cost more to replace.

Mike:
I would suggest caution when putting on metal parts. They look nice, but can be bent. Even the slightest bend (one unnoticable to the eye when it's on your truck) can cause handling problems. Plastic gives a lil' more with impact, saves weight and costs a lot cheaper.
In the end, it's your call. I used to have my T4 all tricked out with metal parts from integy. (ie. gearcase, steering knuckles, T-plate, rear brace, shock towers) When I switched everything back to composites, it handled better, drove faster and forgave the crashes a bit more.
I will always remember something Rick Seffrood told me - "Take off all the metal and your truck will be faster" He was right........

I exchanged my fried R1 pro + $75 for an RS pro(yes the $200 esc), it just goes to show that it sometimes pays off to buy fried esc and send it in.

Two of this week ran stock tires, speed control and motors. The Hills ran their modified foam tired trucks.
I did some testing last week and a 13.5 Gtb seems to be about right for those stock tires. Any more motor and you are asking for trouble IMHO. I have one on order from Novak refurbished. It may be a few weekends before I get them due to stock availability and the holidays.
In the next few weeks we will have a couple more running with us and we can set up some rules between us then. I vote to have some type of brushless motors legal. My 20 pack old motor is starting to show its age already. Rubber tires really hold the speeds down and make you drive it not just mash the throttle.
