I have just ordered my slash yesterday. That makes four now at the track. We will now have our own class for them. Rules have not been set yet so it will be run what ya brung for now until we drivers come up with some rules. I will run mine bone stock for now and see what this baby can do on rubber tires. These things are a blast to drive and darn near indestructible.
Join us on Saturday nights for Slash class racing on the big carpet.
Sure hope mine gets here by the weekend.
Time to buy one Bill.

I will run the stock gears for now. I only intend on running the stock motor and for only 8 minutes. This should keep the heat down that causes the warping issue probably. I know you like to push the limits with motors and gearing. Keep the tips coming as you are experienced with the slash.

I'm more of a find the nearest poll or hard object to hit

the spur its self doesn't accualy worp, its the way it mounts to the slipper, one the 3 pegs, mine still wobbles with the 32p gears, not as much, but there so befy that it doesn't realy matter.

Somehow I knew it had something to do with hitting something hard.
I will do my best to avoid such happenings with my stock truck.
Working on getting my radio ready to swap out into the slash. Can't really see dragging around two controllers at this point. I won't sell the other in case we get rules going that require it.
Sure hope it gets here Friday.

Mailman just delivered new issue of Xtreme RC Cars, and wouldn't you know it, but they have a full spread on simple mods for the slash that still make it stock. Things from where to add weight, shock limiters, making the diff a sealed gear diff with oil. I will bring it up Sat, but if anyone wants to check it out now, just PM me and I can scan it and email, or just go to their website. www.rc411.com

Looks like we will be running our first night of slash class racing this Saturday night. We have four with two more drivers waiting for the mailman to deliver theirs.
At this point we will race under the "run what you brung" rules but will be forming class rules in the next week or two.
I will be running straight out of the box this week to see what it can do.
Come join us for a slashin good time at Marcca.

for rules for the slash class, I'm thinking we run any motor, servo, etc, but we use the stock tires, because even if you put a 5.5 in there there is NO way your going to get that power to the ground with the stock tires.

I would definately like to see what the limits to traction are with a brushless motor running on rubber tires. Is a 10.5 too much? 13.5? The stock motor really has nothing for torque geared high or low. I miss that punch for a jump.
I hooked up real well with my stock setup. Late in the evening I think my tires were glazed from juice on the track and the back end was coming around much easier. Guess I will clean them after each heat.
Changing the pistons and oils around in the shocks this week. I like new toys to figure out. This is part of the fun of the hobby for me.

Very nice Mike. Really like the paint job. I see it has the newer rims on it too. You are one lucky dog. Good to have you joining the slash gang. It will be much more fun with more on the track. When are you supposed to get it in the mail?
You guys coming down this weekend?
