well if he wanted to go slower, he would run a KYOSLOW. That's right he had the M3, sold it to his mate, who in turn sold it promptly and returned to the MRX4X. Bring on the MTX5 at least you know when it's released you won't have to buy a new car for a couple of years at least. One thing is when Mugen release a car it's not updated every year. I myself have tried alot of other brands but now I know what the best is just read the bottom line.

The reason i like mugen is that it never has any unwanted options such as the other brands. if it really has options, mugen has thought inside out its feasibility. and i think whatever mugen chose to build, it already qualified the supplier, there should be problem free. unlike i owned a 960 as a 2nd car, its options were quite lousy, and expensive.
for mugen, it is just a racer out of the box. it will never build a car which must require option to be able to run

Funny you mention this. I have gone to many regional races and have held my own against the competition. When some have come to ask me what hop-ups do I have on my car and I tell them that I am running it box stock, they are totally amazed. They tell me that they have to get this hop-up part or that hop-up part in order to get their car to do this or that on the track like my car does. That is the beauty of the Mugen cars. You don't need to invest hundreds of dollars in hop-up/aftermarket parts in order to hang with the top guys.

You are absolutely right! in my country, there are only less than 2 mrx4 running since 2004 due to the lousy distributor, i am buying parts from japan(in fact, my local distributor is the one probably contributed the result of mtx4 having a serial# in the chassis) At the track where i am going and it is a snake base, many 960 people did come to ask me what this and that to hop up. And the funny thing is, i am always telling them. I was afraid of not having enough local support by the time i had this car so i stock up a lot of required parts. But until now i still have tons of unused spare parts that i can almost build another spare mrx4.

To cut it short, Mugen has a very durable car. With the same impact, my mrx4 has no damage, but same on a 960, wow, they needed to change a lot of parts.

even the mtx4 sibling- xray's nt1, it has hell of a lot of expensive options. no wonder they spent 2 years to reengineer to produce a me too, to "develop options".

the only options or hop ups i think are good for the Mugen are

1. Ti screws.
2. optional 4mm chassis

Isn't that difficult to race mtx3 against newer cars ?

MTX3 have traction roll problem and excessive push, don't you think ?

( I still have 2 mtx3 prospec on the shelf, but I haven't race it again since january 2007 ).

It has been a while since I ran the 3 but while the stock set-up was a bit pushy I was easily able to dial that out. Car handled like a dream. I never had any traction roll problems with it but I rarely ran on really high bite tracks.

This is just my opinion regarding the possibility of introducing MTX5 in 2009.

I think none.

Here's why :

The demand for RC cars worldwide are shrinking due to economic downturn. 2009 will not be the wise period to introduce a new car. Put it this way, 2009 could still be recession and deflation year.
