Go-Tech Engines Thread

I've got a Losi 8ight. I'm looking at putting an .21 7-port standard plug in it. Whats the best Dynamite for it? I've heard the 089 but also heard the 053 will be a good one also. The tracks I run on really range but a lot of mid and low power is what i need. Local guys say the 089(high end) will give me the greatest range of power but idk which one to get. Thanks.

Check the pressure feed nipple on the exhaust pipe. I had pipe once that had a blockage in there. No pressure was getting to the tank. Poke a piece of wire down the nipple or blow through it and make sure it is clear.
If it's blocked you will be running super lean and engine will start but won't keep running more than a few seconds.
Sometimes the fuel will squirt out of the carb throat when starting. Don't run your engine without the air filter for long though. Any dirt or dust down the carb throat is a recipe for disaster

Hey El Tigre - nice pussies
Glad you found the problem.I just had a similar problem this week with a new motor. Wouldn't run properly below 1/2 a tank. Turns out a piece of shredded O Ring was blocking the HSN assembly. When the fuel pressure dropped as the tank emptied it wouldn't pass enough fuel past the blockage and it would run ugly. All sweet now though

Well,
I had a bit of a problem today with my 7port. After some hard running on Saturday with a bad clutch I put in a new clutch and decided to take my truggy out for a spin in front of the house. That is where the bad news started. It was running ok when all of a sudden WOT OUT OF CONTROL. The car hit a wall and flipped over (thank god). I tried to stop the motor by stopping the flywheel from the bottom but realized that was a no go due to me wearing flip flops and it was just tearing them up. The car was spinning like a top in the street by now tearing up the head and wheels like pizza cutters. Then it died. I let the motor cool and tried turning crank by hand and there it was. GRIND GRIND GRIND. I took it apart and a new piston/sleeve/rod are in order.
Here is my question. Are the 5-port and 7-port crank the same (I think they are)?? If so, it is possible to buy the 5port piston/crank/sleeve and install them in my 7port case right! Last question is, what are everyone's opinion on the 5-port instead of the 7-port. It is installed in my LOSI 8 truggy and it seems like the 5-port is the way to go but I will miss the top end of the 7port on the straights.

What a BUMMER

The 5 Port has more bottom (more aggressive power on) than the 7 Port. Don't underestimate the 7 Port though. It has good bottom too, it just doesn't come on as nasty as the 5 Port. So for most tracks the 5 port is better suited to a truggy. Run the 5 Port with a Dynamite 086 or the GO 0801 and you will be very happy. Top end is not as good as the 7 Port, but with those pipes unless you are running pretty long straights you will have plenty of top end, and bottom end power to burn.

This thing pulls strong so I can't wait for it to get it's legs under itself after about a gallon and a half.

Hi Guys, I picked up my Go 7 port about 2 weeks ago and I am loving it. Sounds awesome with the 0801 and keeps up with the best of them.
I've only run about 3 litres through it so still running it a bit rich. Problem is my front bearing is leaking and after a race has sprayed oil up from the fly wheel all over the engine.
Will this stop when I lean it out for a race tune or do I need a new front bearing?
Thanks

Tebo - has it been run? Which one is it? Is it the R215P? Turbo or standard plug? I was talking with Kshreder about his but he stopped replying.
By the way I can't send you a PM ... check your settings.
