Although I sell the Go pipes and I really like the sound and the performance of the 0801 pipe. I tell everyone now that I sell one to that it is very prone to side hits and it crushes easily.

Thanks for the honest info 22!! I do know now who to chat to if I go the buggy route+GO
Will keep the JP-1 on hand still, was thinking it would be a bit aggressive in a buggy though. Thats why I started wondering about options.

Yes, both those pipes might be a little to harsh on the bottom. The new Gen 5, 5 ports are a little smoother than the previous. At our last race I had the gen 4 and my son had the gen 5. (both 5 ports) It rained and the track was real sticky, the kind that made your car 3 lbs heavier at the end of a run. There was a noticeable difference in the 2 motors on the bottom. the Gen 4 had more bottom because of the lighter crank, but most times you would want the smoother one.

I like the Dynamite pipes. I run an 053 on my 7 port from time to time and it is very smooth. Solid too, with the strengthened stinger.

I have an 086 pipe on my 5 port turbo and I have been pleased with the performance. I wanted to buy and try a 0801 but I have heard they are thin walled and get damaged and dented quite easily and with the way I drive, I can't have a fragile pipe.

Cheers guys, thanks for your comments. The 0801 is a nice pipe but very fragile. First time out with mine it took a hit (not that hard) and bent the stinger, folded the side in around the stinger and bent the mounting lug on the front sideways. Nothing that can't be pryed and bent back into shape, but I was surprised at how soft walled it was. Sounds nice though
Hmm, might drag the old 086 out for the 5 Port I think. From memory, before all the new go pipes came onto the market the 086 and 053 pipes were the pipes of choice for the 5 and 7 port Go motors.

Bummer, I just picked up a 0801 pipe for my Go .25.
I have not had too many hits to my old pipes, touch wood I dont get hit with the 0801.
It does sound nice, and has really opened up the bottom end.
Does anyone know if I can use a McCoy MC8 plug in a standard head Go engine? They have a longer thread, so I thought I could use 2 washers on the plug?
I have been using Go NO #5 plugs but am getting low on them and have a heap of MC8's lying around.
They are both Medium temp plugs.
Has anyone used a longer thread plug with 2 washers in a Go engine?
Thanks

I haven't hade any problems with my GO 0801 pipe. On the 5 port this pipe is crazy, I run this setup myself. For some reason my motor never gets above 200 degrees and has all the power I need. To boot that I'm getting 11 minutes on it in my Matrix TR with the stock carb resrictor
I pitted twice in the 30 minute main, this past weekend at the LA points series race
5 port + 0801 =
Killer Combination

I haven't ran the 0801 but I've been running a JP-2 on my 5 port from jump and it is the perfect combination on my mugen 5t. Runs @ 230 with loads of power and great fuel eco. As for buggy not sure I run the 086 on my 3R and seems smooth and consistant.

The denting on the 0801 all comes down to how good of a driver you are and how well you protect the pipe. My dad (22racer) has a few dents in his 0801 pipe but I have had mine for the same amount of time and I don't have any dents at all. We both run Kyosho WC's and mine has the pipe exhaust protector for it. I think that helped a lot in this case.
So far, the gen5 5 port and .25 have been great in both my WC and RR. I don't plan on switching anytime soon.

I am definitely not knocking Go products (I love my Go engines), just stating a fact that others also seem to have found with the 0801 pipe
