Both of them are made by the same company in Taiwan. They are JUNK!
Two of my fellow racers and myself have the Raytek badged ones and all three of them read 40 to 60 degrees hotter than what the temp really is.
I have recently started using the yellow O'Donnell TGX1 and have tested it along side two different models of the Exergen guns, and it has always been within 10 degrees. This is my personal observation your mileage may vary.

I too am using the O'Donnell TGX1. Guys at my track have that $260 Exergen Precision Infra Red Temperature Gun and every time I have tested the different between the two it has been around +- 4 to 6 degrees. Close enough in my opinion. Especially for the price.

I use the Duratrax blue one, I paid like $20 for it. Like said before though that is not the only thing I use I look at the performance, smoke and letting off throttle bogging down to idle. This gun is not perfect but is close, I tested it next to the $200 ones and was never more than 8 deg different.

I have the raytek minitemp. It has never been 'off' by more then 5 or 10 degrees from multiple exrgens and rayteks. I use it for full size cars...

10 degrees is not going to make a difference in RC. If you depend that much on your temp gun your tuning it wrong.
