no need to determine just use it. The early ones all broke within 1 litre so you will know with a couple of tanks, if it is second hand then it is prob ok.

elch & bear
- both cranks are identical
- the orig crank had less timing and you can see this when you hold it next to one of the later cranks any one can tell more meat more metal thicker edges get the drift.
- the later cranks are also a different hardness less brittle, i time all my later cranks to the original speck and none have broke
- the original crank was faster

i just went through the breakin process and to my amazament it was very easy. just put it on the box and after 2 cranks it fired up. its certainly easier comparing to my previous nova and OS. and the sounds is so fantastic
next is to see if i can drive as well as the engine performs

Try www.the-border.com they have a good inventory & selection on Sirio products doubt they have the pit towel but good luck
i have just bought a used kanai evo III engine, itīs almost new (1 gallon after break in) but the guy that sell it to me do a "cleaning" to the engine and screw-unscrew all the carb needles forgeting to take note of the factory settings.
My biggest concern is the mid needle, do anybody know it's factory setting starting from completely closed?? i guess it should be about 5, 5 1/2 turns out.
thanks.

I recently purachsed a Revo with a Sirio 27 in it. When I attempted to start the truck, the one way bearing was out. I pulled it apart and saw the bearing had tore up the back plate shaft. I am not able to find one. Does anyone know where I can get one of these or anyone have an old sirio engine around that would be willing to sell this part? I was able to track down the part number, S23082000. It appears that the S23 and S27 use the same back plate shaft. Thanks...
