hi guys, i finally got my hands on the P9 for my 960, i have a question regarding parts for this engine. what other brand's conrod i can replace it with if i need replacement? from what i remember the Mega DSII, and the IDM is based on the P9 (P7R), but are there any difference in terms of the conrod? can you provide the part number and also where to get one from?

thanks

thanks duneland, do you or anyone else knows the part number for IDM compatible conrod for this engine, if it's compatible? just want to know my other choices. also, whenever the conrod is replaced, is it a must or preferable to change the piston pin and the spring thingy that holds the piston pin?

thanks

Yes, replacing the Wrist pin and clips are recommended when replacing the connecting rod.

Default picco p9 backplate

Has anyone ever notice circular scratches on the backplate of the P9? I noticed scratches which are also wearing away the black coating on the backplate. I asume that this is from the con-rod, yet the con-rod appears to be ok. I suspect that the bearings may have some play or should I not be concerned. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
Ken

That's normal. Nothing to worry about.

Does anyone here happen to know if the Mega ZX21 DSII piston/sleeve set can be used in the Picco P9 Evo II engine?

I'm talking about the following part number: MEG202174

Thanks in advance.

Just picked up a P9 Evo 2 and was wondering about the plug.
When I looked for plugs I noticed that the #7 plug comes in both a long body and a short body (at least from nova).
Can someone tell me the correct plugs I should order.

There is only one #7 PICCO plug which is a cold plug, use only PICCO PLUG is the correct plug, you can click the web link on my signature and order PICCO Plug from the website.

Like kamikaze said Picco only has one style plug, you can run Picco/Sirio/IDM they are the same tappered conical, wich ever one is easier for you to get..
