Novarossi engines thread

Long body is for lower nitro content and/or higher humidity, and vice versa for short body. Here is a good page to print out.

thanks.

I've just got a Nova m.12 from another racer, and had some problems tuning it. It would either run so rich it spurted fuel from the pipe, or so lean it would get very hot...there was no happy middle ground. Either way it had very little power. I opened it up to find a sleeve installed backward, IE the top edge of the sleeve had been cut with a dremel to fit the locating pin....the sleeve was for an engine with the pin on the other side! The exhaust port does line up very close to perfect, maybe .5mm off at most. The sleeve fits the block a touch looser than any of my other motors as well. Finally the crank has some sort of goo in it to create a fuel ramp which is now flaking off, am i correct to assume this engine did not come with these "mods?"

why does the new plus 2 353 2008 edition comes in one engine at the same price as the 2 in one package...i would ecxept it to be at least 100$ off the retail price of the previous version that included the practise engine as well...(i saw it at rc-mushroom for 499$)...unfortunately it's very expensive compared to the plus 1 series which i had bought(the plus 12 ct) for 300$...that makes us a difference of 200$..it's really high priced.what's your opinions guys if we take in mind that there are out there engines at the same specs like rb r3 , os speed2 , sirio evo 4 etc that cost at least 150$-200$ less?

Just looking for a little help. There are so many options for .12 engines now and I have no idea where to go. I am coming back to touring car after 5+ years running off-road. I know I want to run Nova, but there are so many engines, 353, +.12 3SCT, LS3, LL3... I was thinking the +.12 3SCT was the way to go, put now that the 353 is about the same price I was thinking that the 353 is the way to go. Please help. Is the 353 a good all around engine? Short and big tracks? I know the +12 3SCT is a good short track engine and you can gear it to the moon for the big tracks. Just want to get the best all around engine. Thanks for any help

I'm not bashing novarossi ..... infact, I'm novarossi loyal consumers with 10 novarossi engines in my rc box.
I have the feeling 2005, 2006, 2007 production of novarossi glowplugs were not long lasting as they were in 2003. The glow plugs have short life span, sometimes last only 20 - 30 minutes. It seems the glow plugs cannot stand long period of high operating temperatures ( I live in tropical country ). Lately I have to prepare 3 - 4 glow plugs for 1 day racing ( 1/10 engine ), and 4-5 glow plugs for 1/8 . Currently my glow plugs are easy to die resulted from high operating temperature ( 110 C )
Anyone have the same feeling ?

I very rarely go through plugs, using Runnertime. However I change the plug once every 2 meets, just as a pre-caution.
but yeh, what fuel you running?
cheers
