Ninja Engine by GRP

Guys, why are you fighting over something you can't influence at all?
None of you has worked on the design of these engines, right?
If you are happy with these engines, than that is great for you.
If you don't like them, you don't have to run them.
it is a fact, that the Ninja engine line has not fulfilled the hopes that a lot of people had in them and it seems that Mugen is jumping ship.
All of this is no reason to get in each others hair, isn't it?

Yeah and it does not piss me off that people had unrealistic expectations of a $400 engine. The MRT, thick money and based on the track recored looks like it did not deliver. Except the Dutch Championship.

That will be interesting to see. There were quite a few .12's running, and they may be a few people hold on to them this year (maybe not the MRT version). As for the .21, I'd be surprised to see more than 5 people tops.

I'm still working with Mugen/GRP for a replacement but it doesn't look good, so far all they had offered is a crankcase at a discount.

hey guys,
got a question im running the .12 ninja and so far no probs (touch wood) but on the straight of our track i sometimes experience the engine like sorta conking out midway and i jolt the throttle on my radio and then it seems to then wake up and work at its full potential. but this does not always happen... any1 no what this could be? its like asif the carby doesnot always fully open only on some occasions but i cant see wen im up in the satnd lol. and the tune is nice not too lean or rich

I had a few probs. with that motor actually. Another crazy one was the carb. liked to pop out. I would tighten it down hard and it still popped out. I took the pinch bolt out and sanded down each side a little so it would pinch more before the 2 ends would meet. (Thanks to someone on here for that one!) That fixed it for good.
I would also suggest changing the connecting rod after breaking it in. You could probably run it a few times but I think it's a good idea to change it. That's what broke on mine. The bushing in the bottom of the rod came apart and pretty much destroyed the whole motor. Probably would of lasted a while longer if I had changed the rod. That's about all I can think of. Good luck.

I am pretty sure that the new GRP engines are the same as the Ninja's. I found this on 3hobby.net.
