Hey guys... Im thinking of getting this engine (evo3) as a backup and bash engine for club racing... Does the engine work well with the Skyline VR12 plus pipe???

I assume that the picco pipe with a conical manifold will have better performance than the standard header on the Red Dot?
Yes, the conical header will Definitely boost the performance of the JL engines.(I would say night and day difference)

Yes, It does work with the Skyline VR 12 PLUS, this is the only other pipe that will work with the JL Red Dot engine.(it will even be better if installed with a Conical manifold, Novarossi conical manifold will match with the VR 12 Plus pipe)

Default JL3 vs. ZX12

Hi guys,

I own a Mega ZX12 right now and i'm quite happy with it. However, someone wants to buy it from me. So i'm in the market for a new .12 engine. I have a limited budget so the JLR3 looks very good to me.

Question: How does the ZX12 compare to the JLR3? Any known issues when installing it on NT1 chassis?

Thanks in advance for your inputs!!

I have both engines and i can assure you the JLR3 will kill the ZX.12 sports (Kickass modded) hands down IMO, still on my final run in, but the power this engine is producing now hate to see when it's completly broken in, it's going to be an absolute weapon and I only use 16% just hope my driving is up to it ,
Hey Sam do you sell the 2607 pipe by itself without the manifold, if so how much, wouldn't mind getting a spare (just in case), also have Nova 2630 pipe to try and see how they perform, also forgot to take out .2mm shim while running in, it's out now so this weekend will be at the track for it's 1st race meet, cant wait

In my opinion and thats all it is the JLR Evo2 is every bit as quick and probably faster than the ZX.12 from what i've seen at the track. But neither of these are very popular here in Australia at the moment. But the JLR is starting to be a common sight at race meetings now.

I've had a Evo2 for awhile now they are fast and the Evo3 is faster so i can't wait to get my Evo3. I can keep up with any motor now with the Evo2 so with the Evo3 i should be powering past!!

Make sure you use the Picco 2607 pipe for the best performance

I can't see you having any problems fitting the JLR to a NT1. I've seen them in the Kyosho and mugen.

Hope this helps

I sure have 2630 has plenty of bottom end but not enough up top the Picco 2607 has excellent all round power.

JL fits on an NT 1 like it was meant to be, I have a customer with an NT 1 that have been powered with a JL 2, he recently bought 2 JL EVO 3's as an additional arsenal of motors for his NT 1, so that means installing a JL to an NT 1 is not a problem.
