Hey guys how can you tell if your rod or crank is no good? Got an evo3 and just replaced my piston& slv. when I put the conrod on the crank pin I noticed there were some play. Running on a tight budget so I just need the part to get my evo3 singing again. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

there is normally a tiny bit of play.

get a set of calipers and measure your crank pin, make sure it is 'round' if this has warn oval in shape then you could have some problems

Checked my crank with the calipers & got 2 diff. # so I guess it's out of round. Thanks for the help.

You were so right. I ran the STI with the 2611 and Kyosho 2D clutch (w/4 weights) and the car was just screaming. It was so much faster today than it ever has been.

I just realized that I have a tear in the boot on the carb, do they sell a replacement or do I have to get a new carb.
